I read that Windows 10 and 11 are "required", but what I do not know is if it will work on NT. I am not a Windows user, so I only have access to my work laptop. This laptop is running NT, which I can only guess is a business OS? I am not sure if it is just another version of Windows 10 or 11, just for business use?

Windows NT? Are you sure about that? Windows NT hasn’t been supported by Microsoft in nearly 20 years. It’s older than Windows XP. It’s older than Windows 2000. I seriously doubt it would work. Might be a nice museum piece, though.

When I look at the system settings, it said Windows 10 Pro

but when installing FRDS I see this

I went ahead and installed it but I keep getting this when I try to run FDRS

I have installed OPUS IVS and activated my Mongoose, so I don not know what's happening.

Ah. The Windows NT reference in FDRS I have seen before. You are NOT running Windows NT. It’s a bug. Don’t worry about it.

The second screen should be fixable by using the link to download and install Ford’s newest VCI software. Another quirk.

First, I appreciate your help very much.

When I click the link about updating the VCI software I get this

When I click "VCI Software 1.0.1.17" I get this every time

Well, that’s no good. Nothing like doing everything right and getting pimped. Try this link. https://www.motorcraftservice.com/d...ryId=276&from=helm&language=EN-US&country=USA
I can't thank you enough, your magic link worked perfectly. I promise I was following the steps listed in post #1, but to no avail.

I left the Windows world many years ago, and I only fumble my way through it while at work, or when using the many vehicle specific programs that require Windows (like ForScan and the like). I was only taking what I saw (Windows NT) as truth, and I am not aware of the in's and out's of Windows OS versions. I swear it's like learning to walk all over again, haha. Long story short, thank you.

Seeing things that don’t look quite right when you’re about to do brain surgery on a $70K+ vehicle can be unsettling. Glad you got it squared away. Good luck.

Can I ask?

Were you already a member here and aware that others were dng what you are now dointonight?

I ask because it's interesting to watch the various thresholds of pain of different inmates, before they cave.

And it almost ALWAYS leads to exactly your current experience where suddenly you realize that the service department at your local dealership really aren't folks that are more qualified to sit in your truck with a laptop.

It just takes a while before you can get your head around that.
Great for you!!
I did my updates a few weeks ago. When will the ford pas app see them?
The message (in FordPass) letting me know that Alexa was ready to be enabled (3 years free w/o streaming) and the option to activate (purchase) the Ford Streaming showed up almost immediately.

I was still deploying NT4 servers right up to Y2K and the arrival of Server 2000.
Isn't Server 2022 still NT technically? :)

Desktop and Server moved to NT kernel many moons ago, but no they are not "Windows NT"
