Leave the stick in. Mine was about three weeks. Leave it in only remove it if your deladerahip orders a new apim. It can take a long time. I left mine in after the dealer ordered a new apim while waiting for the apim the install took.

Yeah.. Its already pretty full.

Takes about a month in most cases. If it hasnt kicked off in that time you have a bad apim. The other thing is the USB name cant be long needs to be short, I use Sync. Someone left it as Samsung and it wouldnt kick off. He changed it to sync and then it immediately kicked off.
Got it. I guess I have occasionally taken the USB stick out between September 2 and now. I will be sure to leave it in untouched from now on. The name of the drive is literally just USB. I hope that won't throw it off.

New to the thread. You guys are amazing. The service you provide Ford is unreal. Leave it to a user community to outdo the mothership... bravo.

I have 2021 PB, just did my double honk delete via forscan, and had a shop put in AMP research power steps, now my front camera doesn't work, and other camera angles are greyed out (see pic). Timing could be coincidence, but feeling like it isn't. Wondering if doing a FDRS based update could help?

My OTA updates seem like they are working, Ford Pass says last update was 9/21/22 to 2.8.1.

My VIN: 1FTFW1ED3MFA85672

Bought the truck used so not sure what else has been done. I am interested in doing the updates to also apply AS BUILT data back in place to kinda reset and start over fresh.

I gather from thread it's relatively low likelihood of bricking the truck? I don't have time for that, will be trading sleep for SW updates if I do this as it is.

I currently have OBDLink EX, but happy to get mongoose and FDRS if it has potential to correct the camera issue and bring everything up to date.

Thanks!

You need to verify the cam is plugged in. The camera connection is near the hood release. Next the the hose for the spray nozzle. That’s a no image error

Thanks Jesse. The connector looked fine, but the little mesh protector was pulled down, so feels like someone has unplugged/plugged before.

I pulled it apart, and reconnected, no joy, issue persists

BTW: is that an optical cable?

It’s coax. You may have a bad camera. The reason for the other cams being white is that front camera signal missing.

once it is corrected the other cams will look fine

Sounds like you feel it's not likely a SW related issue. I'll let the dealer have a look then. Thank you!

That issue is 100% not software related. Anytime one of the 4 cameras is disconnected the rest turn white. Its easy when one is blue ot know where to look because that one has no picture. So they need to verify from the front to the IPMA.

There is nothing software would fix wiht what is in the picture. That being said I still suggest you updating the truck. It makes improvements

Are there minimum computer requirements for FDRS? I’m a Mac guy and just purchased this cheap laptop from Best Buy to use with forscan: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-1...star-black-star-black/6498806.p?skuId=6498806

Will this basic laptop handle the FDRS and all the updates etc? Or should I return it for a better unit? My Mac’s are desktops otherwise I would use windows on the Mac.

Thanks for all your help!

Do you know if the APIM can get "locked out" of updating? I am asking because I think FDRS locked it out of running the module update repair after multiple failed attempts. I don't think that would completely lock it out and prevent it from updating though, right?

Mine apim could not be updated through the TSB procedure. They ordered a new apim. While waiting I stuck in the usb and then one magically day it updated. It can get past a locked out apim, eventually.

Great to hear. I really don't want to deal with taking it to the dealer. I have no idea what I would even tell them. I know if I told them my APIM was locked out that would be a non-starter.

Gateway updates are live for 2021

ther may be apim after I don’t know but this update unifies the 21 and 2022 FINALLY on the same gateway software

Edit.. No APIM We may be getting closer than I thought though because my testing for 22228 which is the strechable CarPlay required HKC gateway to work right. SO patience may pay off here.
