Get the beers ready Gents… it’s another 3 hour + IPC update. I’ll post the before and after versions for my truck when it’s done.

My dealer called this afternoon and wants me to bring my truck in tomorrow for the 22B08 recall to update the TCU module. I have mixed feeling about letting them work on it. Advice?
I'd let them try it. I think they are starting to get a handle on how to fix these issues now.

I just checked FDRS for the VINs of my '21 Job 1 Powerboost I traded last week and the '22 Lightning I have now, neither of those are affected by this IPC update. Both are Lariats with tech.

Aren't both of those trucks the 12" screen?

suuuuup. been out a few days. looks like 5+ pages back i need to read. anything significant happen the last week? i successfully moved 3 states east. turned off auto-updates as a precaution. didn't need a fiasco during a move.

might have to see if any of you texas guys wanna meet up for a beer sometime. without taking the thread off topic, if anyone has a good Irish red, please send me a pm.

You have an XLT with an 8” instrument cluster. An IPC update for the 8” cluster wouldn’t apply to the larger instrument clusters on higher trimlines, even if you had the same sized 12” Sync screen. Sync is updated via APIM updates.

I checked FDRS and no IPC update for my Lariat as of late last night.

12" productivity screen.

Mike
Right. The instrument clusters are very different. On Lariat and above, the instrument clusters (productivity screens) are all digital. On XLs and XLTs they are a combination of analog and digital. They look very different under the hood, too. For example, IPCs for the 8” cluster have a calibration software loaded into node F124. The 12” digital instrument clusters on Lariats and above have no node F124 at all.
