Which ones did you update and how long did each take? I have about 10 to do myself.
I had a small laundry list some of the more random modules, door module, GSM, tailgate, ACM. BCM and PCM were on there so saved those for last. Had two APIMs so those took some time. Then pretty sure three of both GWM and TCU by the time it was all said and done. A few hours yesterday and a couple tonight and all updated. And of course after the very last update the TCU is throwing a not programmed code so hopefully that will sort itself out after it reports back and everything.

So, I have a weird question. When using FDRS, does it matter what ford login I use? For some reason the one I was using is locked and ford can’t seem to help. Can I just create a new one and carry on?

Yes, you can log in with new credentials. But first you need to log into motorcraftservice.com with the new credentials and accept a couple of user agreements. New creds generally won’t work if you go directly to FDRS.

Let me guess, it’s the same not programmed code as was discussed in my post below. It won’t self clear.

The solution is to run TRON for the GWM, evidently. However, when I did that it turned a bunch of my modules orange which is why I had to do all the self tests described a few posts ago. Two or three posts after the one I link to above from a dozen pages back, jfalat also had to retest a bunch of his modules after running TRON. The SSM 52730 basically says don’t worry about the code. YES, TRON cleared the error but not without other implications (turning most of my modules orange) I describe here.

Purple means it's bricked; no need to panic. The PMI will fix it.
Ok, working on it now. I’m about 30 min in and it has been saying “operation in progress. Please wait-loading data”. The progress bar advances and resets over and over. The green light on the mongoose is on but there is no red light activity. Normal behavior? How long should I expect this to be going like this?

You're looking at about 3 hrs to PMI and then another 3 hrs to update. The bar cycling is normal. IPMA is one of the long updates unfortunately.

Because you have started the PMI, I would not stop it. The update can wait till tomorrow if need be.

And no red light activity is ok? Seems all other things I have done had that red light going nonstop.

The red light is only when data is being transfered. They way I THINK IT WORKS is the files are downloaded to the laptop first, transfered to the truck with the installation software, then installed into the module. Something like that. As long as there is no error showing, you're OK.

This doesn't seem normal. I'd restart the laptop, turn the truck off a few minutes and start over.

Yikes, is the key supposed to be on? There was no prompt about this in the software like there is on the software updates

Yes, ignition on and engine off. Power supply on.

I don't think there could possibly be an update performed without the OBD buss being powered up.
I guess that would explain why the Mongoose isn't showing evidence of communication.
