Ecoboost - Front license plate relocator - worth it?

I'm guessing Ford engineers would have offset the plate mount if it would have been advantageous to the intercooler for the turbo but maybe not? Curious if there's any real gain to this plate mount relocator?

I just installed this week (see details here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-f-150-today.1314/post-232206).

Butt dyno sees no results, but would need a real dyno to see if there would be any real performance gains from this. Even if not helping, certainly can't hurt to allow some additional airflow.

i just moved mine down and used my old f250 plate holder.
not sure if it helps or hurts
but at least air flow is smoother. i despise having a front plate anyway

My thoughts ....

1. Aerodynamics and thermodynamics are not always intuitive sciences
2. If relocating the plate resulted in a demonstrative 'meaningful performance increase' that'd be realized as increased MPG all other things being equal.
3. Ford goes to great lengths, many of them frustrating to some owners, to increase MPG even fractionally for their own interests.
4. This would be an easy item for Ford to 'tweak' IF they saw measurable benefit.
5. Ford leaves the plate where it is

Methinks that any 'meaningful cool-factor' associated with plate relocation has only to do with perceptions of 'cool' which are not measured in degrees of temperature.

Just one opinion (I'll stick with Ford on this one) ....

If you could view a camera of those shutters in front of the Intercooler, and realized just how much Ford BLOCKS the airflow intentionally, you'd suspect that license plate holder makes little difference.
