Might he share with us exactly which line he uses for this procedure?
Well, he doesn't work on F150s so it would require some processing. He also has a toolkit with different fittings and what not for this procedure. But I'm pretty sure he just disconnects from the trans cooler, which I presume the F150 has but maybe not?

I have to say again, that even though I only swapped out 42% of my fluid, it has made a profound difference in shift quality. I'm going to swap at least one more time. Unfortunately, 42% of the fluid I'll drain next time will be nearly new so the effectiveness of these fluid swaps will continue to drop. If I drain another 5.5 quarts next time, only 3.2 (58%) quarts will even be the OEM oil. The next time, even less.

If I was doing it again from new, I'd just swap out exactly 1 gallon of trans fluid every 3rd oil change (I run full intervals on my oil change intervals) indefinitely. As it is, I'm going to swap another 5.5 quarts of trans fluid at the next oil change and then I'll just go to swapping a gallon of ATF every 3rd oil change or so. If the fluid ever starts to come out red and clean again (doubtful) I'll move that out a bit.

Just finished my Powerboost transmission pan and filter.
unbolt trans mount, jack up.
unbolt right side exhaust flange at exh manifold and hanger brackets. Let exhaust hang, you only need an inch or two.
they do not offer an after market pan (even if B&M says it fits “ALL”)
Pull the pan out, do not drill a hole in your plastic pan because some guy on YouTube said to. You’re not going to get splashed.
the two rubber tube gasket that like to fall out I cleaned the hole and rubber - put some rtv on the sides of them to keep them in place when I put the pan back up.
remove the filter. Install new filter gasket into the transmission before putting the new filter into the 1” grommet. Bolt it up.
mine took 8qts to get between 3&4 on the dipstick 21’ Powerboost.
Put the truck in tow/haul. In drive, park brake set to keep the engine running unless you know how to enter diagnostics mode.
I did this on a lift and was pissed at first. But I’d attempt it if I followed these steps on the ground if I had to do it again.
One last thing: This Jerry fluid transfer pump is awesome for $10 on Amazon. 4 pumps and your on to the next quart of fluid. I zip tied the body to the arm on the lift to free up a hand while trying not to get burned on the exhaust. Works perfect!

8qts for a filter change is plenty for a trans service.. Mine was at 58k mi. Small amount of copper but I’m happy with it all after it’s done. Tuned with Livernois eco tune. 35” tires AEM filter and CVFab Intercooler. 5-550hp and 1 truck length behind a TRX while getting 17.5mpg.

And this thread is why I'm gonna just pay to have it done.

lol
I'm late to this thread, but I'm going to ask an inconvenient question. That procedure seems like it would be even at least a small PITA for a dealership mechanic with the right tools. I have worked for dealers (not Ford) in the past, which causes me ask, how many dealers are going to cheat and charge for a filter change that was not performed? How would the owner know?

There's a certain level of trust of course but one can easily look at the transmission to see signs of fluid staining on the pan or by the dipstick plug. Chances are there will be some there. Could also mark the bolts with a sharpie or paint to see if they line up after having it done. Just take pictures before hand with the date on it so if it looks exactly the same you can take it back with the pics and ask them wtf.

Once took it to dealer for engine oil and filter change, I knew they were lazy cause they previously just plugged a hole in my tire without patching it up, I marked the filter with a sharpie and when I got it back the mark was in same place. No doubt my dealer would leave the filter and claim they changed it.
