If it is device specific, that’s a pain; all the more reason why iPhones don’t have this issue, they’re all the same platform. Couldn’t help myself ?
Yea, but I can sideload CarStream onto my phone and play youtube videos on my truck's screen without a $300 adapter. This is the main reason I want full screen capability on my truck. I wouldn't even need full screen AA for that. Apple makes a great product, but their communistic approach to business has always turned me off about them. You own your phone, and they limit what you can do with it and limit compatibility with non-Apple products. If I have to wait a few more weeks for coolwalk, that's a first world problem I can deal with. lol

That I will have to agree with, sideloading is way better on Samsung than Apple, Apple you can just, up to 3 free app slots or 12 if you become a developer for $99/month which is ridiculous. Ah well jailbreak the iPhone to break the limitations; one way to get by that honestly. If you can, you’re gold! But every phone has its pros/cons. It’s really up to the user.

What phone do you have? I am following the AA Beta Program and the Samsung S21 Ultra hasn't received the Coolwalk yet which is what you nee to get the full screen. I have that phone and it's frustrating...
S21 as well

Just going to throw this out there since it keeps coming up.

In order to get full screen android auto you need Sync 3.5.3.2, but on its own all that does is allow Android auto to technically go full screen but you still have it split between 2 apps. Maps and music most likely.

From the Google side you need the Android auto app version 8.6.x. However that alone will not get you full screen maps, the almighty Google needs to enable coolealk on their end, and for whatever reason they are very slow rolling it out. It's a server side update so there is nothing you can do but wait.

It's also model specific... trust me the info is in the Beta Forum threads...

That’s weird and yes it worked for the fiancée’s friend as I wanted to test how it would for Android, works flawlessly! Forgot to take a picture of it but here’s one from my good buddy Lawrence’s; this is android auto in full screen.

—it’s weird, most of the full screen (CP or AA) update has Alexa icon on the top bar, I wonder why you don’t?

My Alexa doesn’t stream music anymore since the update.

So, I've got 3.5.3.2 now, and the only thing it is useful for as far as I can tell is being able to see your music app and google nav at the same time. Being that I generally use the Sync4 nav (and have location services turned off on my phone), this update is kind of pointless for me. Oh well. At least they're adding functionality for those who will benefit.

Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting ?
