I got my oil changed on Thursday. It looks like the tech ripped the felt diaper completely off the bolt. I brought this to their attention and was told to bring it in and they would try to fix it. Not by replacing the diaper, but by using some creative repair ideas. I said to heck with that, I can redneck engineer my own stuff and save myself the time to drag it 45 minutes each way to have them do the bare minimum. But, I will have to ding their survey for it happening in the first place.
Here is the before and after:
I put 2 large washers on the back side to spread out the forces on the felt. It feels as solid as a felt piece can feel... See how long this engineering effort lasts. Will probably get the RCI cover if/when this fails again....
