I got my oil changed on Thursday. It looks like the tech ripped the felt diaper completely off the bolt. I brought this to their attention and was told to bring it in and they would try to fix it. Not by replacing the diaper, but by using some creative repair ideas. I said to heck with that, I can redneck engineer my own stuff and save myself the time to drag it 45 minutes each way to have them do the bare minimum. But, I will have to ding their survey for it happening in the first place.

Here is the before and after:

I put 2 large washers on the back side to spread out the forces on the felt. It feels as solid as a felt piece can feel... See how long this engineering effort lasts. Will probably get the RCI cover if/when this fails again....

Yes, that's for sure. I have seen this sag on other 150s and wondered what it was. Now I know.

I may give the RCI cover a go, especially with their current offer of free cat covers with the purchase of the trans cover. That link to the other thread I thought says the Raptor cover is not compatible with the Powerboost. Did I read that wrong?

The 2 front holes on the side straps aren't present on most PBs, but it does mount in the same spots the factory diaper does. This is shown in the very first post.

I purchased the RCI last year. Install should have been easy, but the factory hardware had to be cut off because it just spun when putting a wrench to it. Quite frustrating.

Frankly, the cover is a waste and an inconvenience.
My STX does not have one. What am I missing or losing? Absolutely nothing. Trash the damn cover and save your time and money.

Mine deteriorated due to snow/rain. The service dept at my dealer said that they have to remove this every time they do oil changes. After doing this 2x, I purchased a new one and had them replace it. He told me not to waste my money next time, its a terrible design by Ford.

There are two reasons why I hate to take my truck back to the dealer for service, wait time and a careless mechanic taking care of your truck ??

It's an aero shield and a quasi trans protector from general road debris. The metal one is a much better option. Trans pan is plastic.

You guys can say what you want about the factory undercover but I'm pretty sure that it saved me from some undercarriage damage the other day when I ran over a tire tread in the fog.

My 23 didn't come with one, my 2019 fell off about a month ago. No intention of replacing
