I installed a @WOLFBOX Dashcam for the times I am not in my Vehicle and the careless drivers are lurking in the parking spaces. Little did I know that the highway would be more useful. A no brake 40-50 mph rear contact was very eventful. I removed the language for tender ears!

Times like this are exactly why I installed a dash cam. People’s stories change once they are off scene. Video keeps their recollection from changing.

Ain't it the truth. Had a woman pull out in front of me in a moving van years ago...couldn't avoid hitting her. She got out of the car apologizing and admitting it was her fault over and over. Police arrive and take our versions. They put them online the next day. I go and look and the story she told and picture showed me driving into her lol.

I hope everyone's okay and a reminder to me to install a rear cam.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I put a camera on my 1,800 mile special order '23 XLT SuperCab. I had spec'd the camera when ordered.

I am in the unimpeded right lane moving at 35 mph. The left lane was halted to turn left at the next light. A guy coming the opposite direction was attempting a left turn across a double yellow line into a strip center. A good samaritan in the left lane gave him a break and turn he did. He was driving a shoe box, appeared out of nowhere. I had little time to react. Traffic on the left and trees on the right. I slammed on the brakes and nailed him. I was running about 30 mph. He hit me about 30 degrees off center in the right middle of the grille. No airbags went off in either car.

We are not hurt, but I was pissed. He was more pissed. I did not talk or say anything. I stayed in the truck. I pulled my gun out and handed it to my wife just in case. This is Texas.

He finally calmed down somewhat and was just circling his car blaming the wreck on me. I never showed emotion. It did not escalate from there. His car was clearly totaled.

The police show up. I get out. She is cute as she can be. She took our statements. She wrote up what she saw. It was as exactly as described above. Not my fault.

His insurance, "State Farm Is There", asked for the file. It was clear their client was at fault.

Damage to my truck looked mostly superficial. No fluids leaking. It was towed to my insurance company's preferred shop. I'm thinking it can be repaired.

My insurance company's preferred shop inspection revealed a 1/4" upward warp in the right hand side of the frame about the back edge of the right door. They refused to take the truck. It took the brunt of the force because of the off center hit. Next project was to get State Farm Is There to total the truck. They wanted to replace the frame. I was in no mood to agree to a frame replacement. We ultimately totaled the truck.

Assuming one can come out of a wreck that was not their fault without any meaningful injury to any party is a good outcome.

So the only "satisfaction" I might have is it totaled his girlfriend's car. She probably had a loan on it. Probably did not receive what it is worth (like me), plus she would need another car. It would likely be very stressful and very expensive for her and him, assuming he stayed around.

That is not satisfaction. I at least could afford my total loss without impacting my financial situation. I really loved that truck. It was a special order. But it is one of life's eternal test track speed bumps of which, at my age, am very experienced at absorbing, good or bad.

Replaced it with a 21 SuperCab Lariat. I could not reorder my XLT because they dropped the SuperCab.

I could meet that gentleman today with no animosity.....but I still loved that truck. And, I guarantee that truck is on the road today with a salvage title and unrepaired frame.

The camera worked as it should have.

I've been using Blackvue dual channel cams since 2013, the old one still works in my old truck so I went back with the same brand for the new truck. Invaluable to keep people honest.

Why Do I smell a rat with this Wolfbox Ad... Most people wouldnt call out a specific brand name but just put they installed a dashcam or a camera. No one says that the Takata airbag saved thier life but smply say the airbag saved their life... Thats my rant as a smell a rat!

I used Google Lense and low and behold the WolfBox Facebook page came up https://share.google/images/yU4vuEi9yQdTafJjJ go figure! WHat a load of crap WolfBox is trying to make a fake post!

I have dual dash cams with front and rear cameras. Had a cheap one and I just added a Wolfbox system to my 2021 PB. I live in Florida and if you don't have video proof now. You could be blamed for it even though it wasn't your fault. People here will back up into you at a light or stop sign and claim you rear-ended them. I just watch a YT video about F250 here in FL and a guy who changed lanes and cut right in front of the F250 while going through a light but traffic was stopping just past the intersection and the car slammed on his brakes but the F250 rear-ended the car because the car took his braking distance away and if it wasn't for his dash cam he would have gotten the ticket because he rear-ended the car in front. The cop watch the video he had and told him he wasn't at fault, but w/o the video he would have got the ticket.
