Current Shipping Delays

For what it's worth, someone higher up in Ford stated my truck is indeed on a chip hold still. The order tracker shows it as built, Ford customer service and my dealership says it is done waiting to be shipped, but I was told that was not true. At best Ford is in disarray with their information and/or order tracking system, at worst they are full of $hit and making excuses while not wanting to own up to logistical issues they can't seem to get straight. Either way, I still couldn't get an answer as to why they are providing mixed information depending on who you talk to.

Michael, That has been the experience that pretty much all of us have had, when trying to get information on a delayed truck. Obfuscation, disinformation, & sometimes just straight up lies seem to be Ford's method of running you around in circles while not actually tell you anything.

Window sticker indicates convoy delivery, but dealer information indicates delay rail carrier. I don't understand this.

Maybe it never really got built? I wouldn't have known myself had I not sent an email to the VP of sales bitching about their lack of communication. They are probably using antiquated systems for logistics and need to move into the 20th century. According to this report, they had 53k vehicles parked waiting for chips in early May; it has probably only gotten worse since then.

Seems like there's not much point to even complain anymore; guess I'll be back once a week for a weekly bitch session. The longer Ford takes to deliver, the less likely customers might take deliveries the way things are going.

I am curious as to what the realistic shipping wait times are at the moment. I don't know if there are any differences in shipping time between rail/convoy. List your shipping method and current length of time from built, not counting those still on chip hold. I am trying to gauge what a realistic est for delivery is instead of the random BS Ford is pumping out. Thought this would be easier than digging through all the weekly build threads. Thanks all!

Ordered mine October 5 2021, still waiting. Built January 12, waiting on chip. 9 months

So when is a line a line vs a lie. They just have to allocate a few extra chips to any line for a few days to honestly be "giving the top vehicles priority". Weather they use these chips to turn out vehicles on the line or to complete unfinished orders on lots it is likely true.

My guess is that Ford makes more money keeping the production line open (and sidelining a small portion of vehicles with individual shortages) than they would if they had to slow production and pay another crew or two to run around to the 12 or more lots they have filled with trucks putting the few chips they have in them.

Definitely keeping the line going is what's holding up everyone that was on hold for both chips and shipping. Seems like if you were put on any hold where your truck is located must be difficult or time consuming to get to and any pause for the trucks coming built off the line won't happen. I bet there will be some of us still waiting for our 22's while 23's are being delivered.

My app activation was denied the other day so I think that's an indication that someone had to move the truck in order to get it to a shipping container or shipping method

Never will, others have mentioned it's either automated or an intern running it. Its a pointless account and shouldn't be on here.

Let me make it clear for you. Ford invoices dealers at or about blend date. In most cases that invoice is debited against the dealers billing account instantly. Ford keeps revenue rolling & the “most purchased truck in America“ status rolling by keeping the production line going, no matter what. If there is any glitch with a truck it is figuratively pushed to the far corner of the lot. Ford will only get back to it when it is convenient or expedient for them.

Call all you want. They will tell you any number of things, but you not believe any of it. I personally have been told lie after confirmable lie.
