Coin in Shifter!

Man, my kids dropped like 5 pennies right on this spot/crack of the shifter. Well as I continued driving they actually all slide into the crack, not sure how - its a really thin crack.

Any idea how to pull this trim out without breaking anything?

I think there are some BMW seat heaters that are coin-operated.

So I see the video on how to take the shifter assembly OUT, however the coins are in the shifter assembly itself.

Oh boy, 'jailbreaking' the module to get physical access to its interior looks risky to me.

Given that, I'd just cross my fingers, keep driving, and hope there's no problems

Maybe remove the module and see if you can get lucky with invert / twist / turn / shake to get the pennies to drop-out where they slid in ???

I would try and take out the shifter and shake it about, those coins will probably find their way out. Or like others have said, perfect time for a dial conversion!

This is giving me more reassurance the dial shifter I’m putting in today is the way to go. My 4 and 2 year olds are in an interesting/curious phase right now.
