My observation, if this is a prepped floor, is that it is not diamond ground enough. IMO you shouldn't see any staining marks, subtle or obvious, that I see in these pics.I am in the process of coating my garage floor and I could use some advice. I had coated the floor about 18 years ago with Epoxy Shield but it did not hold up well, probably due to a lack of proper preparation. So this time I am doing as much prep as I can. So far I have repaired some spalling at the edge of the slab and diamond scratched the entire floor twice. Some of the original coating remains along the edges but it is not coming up.
Here are some questions/concerns
1. Since I have diamond ground the surface, do I need to clean the concrete? The same goes for acid etching.
2. Should I prime the floor, and if so what product should I use? One or two part primer?
3. Will primer make the epoxy coating cover better?
4. What coating should I use? I am thinking of using Rocksolid simply because it is readily available. I also plan on top coating as well.
Thanks.
