I have a 22 x 32 and I get my 22 foot boat and 68 mustang in it with room for storage and a small work bench and 2 large tool boxes. I wish it was wider than 22 but I couldn't go wider. Go as big as your budget and property will allow, you only want to do this once.

I have a 24x24 pole barn I built this year. I can fit my truck and wife's bronco sport but it is tight. It's perfect size for my tools and my truck.

Mine is also 24x24 with a 16 ft door. Looks about the same as yours for space with two vehicles. My F-150 and my fiancee's CX-5 are a little tight.

We usually don't both park in there, though. Just during snow storms.

The wife an I are in the beginning stages of a reno/addition and am looking into a garage. I'm curious to see what sizes you guys have. I'm thinking at least 26'x26' and I know everyone says the bigger the better but, I think that's as big as our property will allow. Anyway, ideally I'd like to be able to open at least 1 vehicles doors and some room for a workbench, any thoughts
My garage is 34 ft wide with variable depth. The section where I park my truck is 31 ft deep with a small work bench in front it. It's decent but I still wish I had more room. Go as big as you can.

Bigger is always better!

My house originally had a 20' x 20' garage that I could park in with a couple inches of clearance. This is now the wife's garage where she parks a Lexus RX on one side and the other side is storage for bikes/strollers

I then added a 30' x 14' bay on with a 10' wide x 8'6" tall door so I could pull in with a roof top tent. In my opinion it's the bare minimum size that you can still have some storage, a work bench, and be able to wrench on your truck.

I would have liked to go bigger but I had to get a zoning variance already to build this size.

As stated, go as big as possible, and go vertical/loft if you're allowed.

My detached shop, built by previous owner, is 30x50 with 11' ceiling and a 9'x16' door. Plumbed with a 1/2 bath and drywalled/insulated, but oddly enough no gas line. We also have a standard attached double garage that stays uncluttered for the daily drivers; the wife appreciates the shop for storing/absorbing all my tools.

If I were to build one myself, I'd go even bigger and have a partitioned space for wood/metalworking, as well as a loft or at least taller ceilings to more comfortably accommodate a lift.

My pole barn was slated to be 32x64, but at the last minute, site conditions unknown, made me move it and downsize to 24x32. Ugh. I still have a 2-car besides, but not what I intended. Now by the house, I reduced the height, too. I’d never NOT make provisions for a lift, either. They are too cheap today.

From the inside of my garage door to the back wall is, if I recall correctly, 240". Your average 14th gen F150 is 232". My RCSB is 210" - the main reason I got it. The back wall of the garage behind my truck is also the door that leads into the house, so the extra 30" is enough room to sneak past without getting tailgate dirt on your Sunday best. We won't even mention what it's like trying to fit more than one vehicle in the garage. A 16' door allows for two 8' wide vehicles to kiss mirrors every time you pull in. The F150 is almost exactly 8' wide from mirror to mirror. So it'll thwack the door frame or thwack the other car every. single. day. (Or at least it would if my other car weren't a tiny little Japanese econobox which I have lifted up and shoved up against the wall so I have a few inches to spare. Sure, I can't actually drive it without 15 minutes of work to get it out of the garage, but hey... I don't have to worry about hail!)

In short, a 21x30 "three car" garage is too damned small.

edit: It's 21' deep, not 20'.

Standard Florida 3 car garage here. It is insulated and with a mini-split to keep it cool all year. But too short for the truck to fit. :(

My garage is 36'x26' with the 3rd stall only being 24' deep. I built an over sized 3rd stall with 10'x8' door and a vaulted ceiling for my lift. My biggest regret was going with a standard 16'x8' main door. I wish I would have gone with an 18' wide door for sure. Backing in the truck if the wife doesn't park great (she never does) leaves things kinda tight.

So as everyone has said; go as big as you can.

Yep, I'm envious of some of those big spaces, so hard decisions needed to be made. The boss'es Kia is now relegated to the driveway, and the 157" angles in... just ?
