It's my wife's, and it does. I wish I had the skills to drive it properly. She says I drive like a grandma. She is faster than me on 4 wheels. In her college days she organized an SCCA all women's race team. I taught her to ride motorcycles a few years back and now the only track days we do are on the bikes.You have very good taste! Stock was only 240 HP and 250 lb-ft at the wheels on a chassis dyno in 2011, but a stock EVO is a unicorn. Mine is at 330 HP 335 lb-ft at the wheels now, which is more than enough to take Boss 302's on road courses. Mine has a very conservative list of upgrades and tune to save the twin clutch transmission. I can max it out at about 375/375 if I tune for E85, and that's as far as the twin clutch should really be pushed. Building the clutches to take more gets very expensive, and the trans is very expensive to replace if you grenade one. But the perfect rev matched downshifts on track sure are easy. These were only 4.9 sec 0-60 cars back in the day, and they are really made for the twisties, road courses, and rally racing, not straight line speed. The torque vectoring AWD system makes learning how to drive fast on a road course much easier for a novice. Pro drivers would be faster in those Boss 302s, especially on a course with longer straights, but most amateurs will be faster in the EVO because of the handling, braking, and AWD power delivery. The 5 speed cars can be tuned to about 450/450 without building the engine, and 1000 HP has been done, which is pretty unreal for a 4 cylinder turbo, but those are $30k engine builds...I heard those things are quick. They are something different, you don't see that many of them, and most people have no idea what they are as long as they don't have fart can exhausts and huge wings. I love mine, and I will own it forever, but I shopped it new against those Boss 302s and I couldn't find a Ford dealer that would sell a 302 at sticker, so I went and bought this at invoice. But I still lust after those Boss 302s, and I am committed to ordering a Mach 1 this time around so I don't regret not picking one up. And then the EVO will probably be gutted and caged for 100% track work, and when the clutches start slipping, then I'll build them and the engine for a true track beast.

This is what I did to the drive shaft on a car show fun day at a track. 3rd run and all He^% broke loose. You know something bad has happened when you see bolts going down the track and you are not. Good thing Dodge warrantied everything.
7.4 sec in the 1/8 mile. I even had folding chairs and ice chest in the trunk. Lol

You got that right! I've decided people are stupid and watch the wrong news network. LolWe truly live in the golden age of performance cars. Multiple 700 HP vehicles from the Big 3 is pretty insane. Sure hope gasoline doesn't go above $5/gallon with our new political regime, or it might be the end of the fun...
