2022 STX Supercab 5.0 4x4, 700 miles on the odo.
So I’m not sure if this is an issue or not, but its something I’ve noticed a handful of times recently. When I’m stopped on a hill nose down, either in traffic or at a light, when I let off the brakes without pressing the gas and start moving I get a distinct clunk feeling/sound. Best description is the same feeling of a harsh shift clunk, but a little more exaggerated. Reading about it, it is probably driveshaft slop or even a harsh 1-3 shift. What’s odd is if I press the gas immediately after letting off the brakes, there is no clunk. My old F150, a 2016 2.7, did the exact same thing for over 50k miles til I traded it in with no issues, so I’m not overly concerned. On my old truck and this one, I can replicate the clunk nearly every time under the same circumstances facing downhill from a stop. Im not going to mention it to the dealer unless it gets significantly worse, some tech digging around would cause more harm than good, but it is weird the same thing is happening in a truck 6 years newer. I thought I would post here to see if anyone else has experienced this on the 21-22 trucks, couldn’t find anything similar to this mentioned anywhere.
FWIW, my transmission is pretty smooth for the most part. Not many harsh shifts, and no considerable driveshaft slop aside from what was mentioned. The 6r80 in my 2016 was noticeably harsher shifting, and had a good amount of driveshaft slop.
