Changes in Ford pass point earning

Seems that Ford has stopped the use of the Ford pass Credit card as a way of earning points that can be used to service or by parts or connected services. At least that's the impression I get from the following email

You are receiving this email because you are a FordPass® Rewards member. We’re letting you know that new applications for the FordPass Rewards Visa Card are no longer being accepted. Please note that any Points and/or Tier status earned from the FordPass Rewards Visa by current cardholders through May 27, 2025, will be retained. Get the Fidelity cash back card. Earn flat 2% towards a brokerage account. Save, earn, and invest. Pretend it doesn't exist. It'll be worth a good chunk of change when you retire or when you need the cash in the long future.

I called Ford Visa and this is that they are not accepting new applications.
Current Visa holders will continue to accrue points.

Navy Federal's is also 2% on everything.

Both are without limits, and no fee for foreign currency transactions.

Both are also visa signature, which is one of the few things left covering rental cars.

I think my WF card is also 2%, but harder to redeem. But it's also, well, WF, so there's that hold devil's spawn thing. I originally took it for the cell phone insurance, but then Tmobile jacked up their fees about 10% if you used a credit card rather than debit on autopay.

Capital 1 has 1.5, unlimited.

We've had the Capital One Quicksilver for a long time. For a easy and clean cash back card, it is hard to beat. Since we added the Fidelity card almost two years ago, rarely use the Quicksilver anymore, but still have it. Just can't use Wells Fargo with all the anti-consumer tactics and fraud they've shown the last decade.

Does the current FordPass rewards expire, and if they do what’s the date?

Just got a mailing.
Card number, CCV. expiration continue unchanged (as long as you are in good standing) despite the change to a new card that is to arrive Mid July. New card is 'Gear up".
All Ford points earned through May 27 will continue to be managed and redeemable at Ford after that date. Any card usage after that date will earn points to "Gear up".

We use redstone fed for visa
Normal cash back every qtr.
Fuel goes on visa, and online stuff
Earn more plus .
But debit card every thing else
Groceries etc.
We don't fly or rent cars .
I was going to get ford visa, just for service, parts etc
But changes in program killed that
Not understanding why ford pass points is trying to be axed.
For us it only really paid for small stuff right after purchase of new vehicle
This year only 42k point on new superduty
Used to be 70k
