That's my understanding too, just confirming.

That blows my 'bet' on the one-touch dash button unless the two-touch button wasn't introduced at all until late 2022 builds, perhaps that's what @Jesse-Infotainment is saying is the 'additional qualifier' (?) ...
Yes.. I had said that earlier. This double press is only on later builds. After ford started building trucks with the BCM update already installed.

I believe the builds were starting in march maybe April. Could be later I cant remember when the BCM update was released. It coincided with the unintentional release CSP

The CSP only applies to power release only. You can though get power release only all the way through Platinum. That is why I ask. So all XLT with later build should have 2x the lariats and up could be mixed depending on if they have full power or release only

We tried to enable double press on full power tailgate and it stayed single press. So that is what leads me to believe its power release only. I bet if people with later builds answer we will see that as the pattern

I've been meaning to schedule mine for the tailgate CSP (along with a few other warranty issues), but I did not know it would change to a double press.

Not mandatory. Can be changed back to single.

my 22 doesn't have a 2x button....
Not early MY22's. Mine was built the week before Christmas, Dec 21. It has a single push tailgate button.

Could be most are like that, but my early MY22 Power Boost (built Christmas week, 2021) which only has a remote power release definitely has a single press release botton. Attached is a picture of it.

so the powerboost has the electric fuel door button?

duh that makes sense
It’s because of the length of time one can go between fillups the tank is pressurized to keep the fuel fresher longer. When you press the button there is a few second delay before it pops open to de-pressurize the tank. My c-max and plug in fusion also had this locking fuel door as well.

From my readings on Power Boost, you don't want that. It's been giving problems to PB owners, in that it breaks easily.
That’s interesting. I’ve had both a c max energi and a fusion energi with the same locking fuel doors and never had an issue with either. I guess time will tell. Lol.

I have a ‘22 Platinum, built the very end of May, picked it up 6/20, has the power up and down tailgate, and it doesn’t have the 2x button.

But I never knew I could close the tailgate from using that button lol(thought just the fob)…I learned something from this thread I never knew. I’ll have to go try it out.

FYI...
The Tailgate CSP is a 2-3 day repair and my dealer is out 30days for scheduling.
They only have one tech that completes the modifications to ensure QAQC. it is a very involved process that makes me think Ford doesn't really know what the problem is. Do i really need to be able to push a button to open the tailgate? i am starting to think not.
