Brake Squeak

Anyone experience brake squeak first thing in am or even when the truck sits for a while doesn’t matter with weather, humidity etc. After first couple brakes it goes away just annoying it didn’t do first 4k miles or so currently at 15k miles.

I know it can be some surface rust etc, but could this be fixed with new brake pads, re surfaced rotors etc? Can’t stand squeaky, squealing especially on a new vehicle.

look at your rotors on both sides to see any obvious unusual wear signs and go from there. If it's a particular wheel for sure, take the tire off and inspect it.

Good to know thanks for sending that. I will show the dealer when I head in. Is this a TSB, I have a electronic parking brake on mine.

If you would like to know if you're trucks rear brakes are the feature code FAJAK. before approaching your dealer. You can either PM or post in the vin look up thread you're vin to @rugedraw include the screen shot and he should be able to confirm the build code in PTS for you. You'll then have an ace in the hole when you talk to your dealer. Good luck!

Edit; it's not a TSB it's a service action, which basically tells the dealer to do it under warranty and it will be covered.

Mine does the exact same thing. Back out of the garage, squeak with each press of the brake. Drive a 100 yds to my gate, slight squeak, and by the time I get to the first stop sign it's gone.

Where do I look up the "FAJAK" build code in PTS? I don't see it under the "Vehicle ID" tab which is where I assume it would be.

If I remember correctly, in the vehicle home screen information somewhere about halfway down the screen in the center there will be build information. When you click on it, and will bring up a list of codes for all of the options and information about how the truck was built at the factory.
