Bluetooth tooth phone connection pissing me off

I have android auto and a 2022 platinum. The way Android auto sits I can't turn off Bluetooth to disconnect my phone. Turn it off on my phone and it turns back on by it's self.
I found a work around to force calls back to my handset for private conversation. That involves pressing a button on the trucks screen.
Now my issue is if I leave my truck running and go inside a building or away and I want to make a call. When making the call the Bluetooth on my truck routes the audio inside the truck. I'm not in my truck!!
I can't disable the Bluetooth connection on my phone.
It turns itself right back on.
I can go into settings and remove the truck but then I have to go through paring again.
Does anyone know if rooting my android device can force Bluetooth to stay off when. I ask?
My Bluetooth range is super long.
I can park in one driveway and walk as far as 5 houses away. I'm also a home builder. Lots of times I need the truck running to charge tools and devices.

Can your turn of BT on the phone when you leave the truck? IOW, cut the connection to the truck from the phone end of the linkup?

Nope.. turn off Bluetooth from the phone it turns itself right back on.

Try it. Have a Bluetooth connection setup working.
Walk away from a running truck.
Turn off Bluetooth on your phone.
Make a call. 30 seconds later Bluetooth turns back on and re routes voice calls back to your truck. But your not in your truck.
If you are in your truck and have passengers and a call comes in and you don't want your passengers part of the conversation you can't pass the call back to the phone without removing the phone from the trucks Bluetooth.
Google has made it impossible to use your phone in the truck unless you don't want Bluetooth to do the other stuff like streaming music or maps.

Probably need to delete phone from the truck and remove truck from phone memory.

my samsung S21 is doing weird BLUETOOTH things as of last week as well
i thought it was pandora, but then not running pandora i am still having phone issues

bluetooth randomly will not connect and when it does the phone settings go to NONE allowed and i have to reset the settings, basically start over.
i have removed phone and re-paired it many times with it working great for a few days then goes nuts again

i think its a recent update thing with the s21 as my wifes older samsung works perfect in the truck

many times i try to dial out and it says INVALID number...its my wife, then it connects and hangs up
then next try it goes through.

i have found if i have bluetooth and wifi on prior to opening the truck and turning it on..
i fewer issues.
if i start truck then turn on bluetooth and wifi, i can get random screw ups
i think its the last android update is not wanting to play nice with sync 4 for some reason
i also do not use android auto, never even though it is not loaded on my phone, but tries to load
figure that one out

my bluetooth range is FAR as i was in the ford dealer paying for service on wifes car..my sync screen displayed the text form bank telling me i spent money

You can easily change between Bluetooth, speaker phone, or handset on the screen of your phone on whatever app you use to make calls without turning off Bluetooth.

So if you touch the button circled below, before you exit the truck, you would still have this issue when you walked away from the truck?

Mine, if your turn BT off, it turns it back on. Sadly, may have to "forget" that phone so doesn't autoconnect?

I have, that's why I asked, and when I turn off BT on my phone it stays off. But I'm on an iPhone / IOS, not Android

What has been bugging me lately, is if I am sitting parked listening to the radio, and I scroll through a twitter feed or something that typically has audio on the phone, it automatically switches to the phone, even when muted.

just a few moments ago
i got the TEXT notification TONE, but it took about 40 seconds to display, and while it was deciding, the radio volume muted.
pandora was not on....but the ap showed up in the apps screen?
my android button is not toggled to the ON position. that is why i think phone is trying to do it.
has to be the auto settings somewhere
i assume the last android update reset the auto drive detection thing... for me anyway


anybody know how much RAM is in sync4? maybe we are getting conflicts from lack of memory combined with recent phone updates

This is the way of Android Auto or Apple Carplay. There is also an wifi component thats keeps everything working. For things to work the way you want them to would either have to not use either services and use bluetooth only, Or using the cable might be the better solution for you. Everything works like it should when connected with the cable. Then once unplugged, its done. No auto reconnecting.

Turn off bluetooth AND wifi. While the audio uses bluetooth, AA uses the wifi. Kill wifi then bluetooth and it won't hijack the phone. You can't do just one.

And what would that accomplish? No music, no android maps? Doesn't solve my problem
