I am curious, when people here mention "Rain-X is the problem" - which product of Rain-X are you referring to, is it the application to the windshield? I use Rain-X silicone blades and also Rain-X windshield fluid and don't see any issue.
For us old timers, you only had the orginal Rain X which you applied to the windshield. The wipers and washer solvent are newer additions.

Small tip for ya'll that I learned from my dad many, many years ago - when you replace wiper blades, keep the old ones in the vehicle ;).

I’ll add my name to the list of rainX users that report no problems.
I started using it on my 2016 super cab. It was the first thing that I did when I brought it home. I just always assumed it was the reason that my wiper blades worked so well and lasted so long. So good, in fact that I have been sticking with the OEM wipers.

When I brought home my 2024 regular cab short bed, it was the first thing that I did, once again. My windshield just seems so much easier to clean, and my windshield wipers work as good or better than any vehicle I’ve ever had.

I switched to the Trico High Mileage blades. Part number 56-220. $25 on eBay for a brand new pair delivered to your door. Better than anything else out there and cheaper than the Bosch.

Rain x needs to be put on properly and maintained. If not you will get skipping issues. They now have ceramic glass coating that works great.

Four+ years. Still OEM blades. Rain and snow. Rain-x. Hand wash only, never go to a carwash due to XPEL PPF. I only use Sprayway window cleaner inside and out. No ammonia to degrade the rubber and I also have XPEL nano ceramic window film inside, thus Sprayway. Check the arms and blade alignment. If under warranty, get them checked and replaced if needed.

I normally go with OEM, however I am trying Bosch currently. They are OK but I will go back to OEM low profiles again next time. You must ask for the low profile blades otherwise you will get regulars.

I ordered some K&N stuff a while back for my ATV, and they had a special on their wipers at that time. I ordered a set for my truck, and they have been pretty sold.

Hey guys, my truck is 5 months old and the OEM wipers are garbage already. I always keep my windshield RainX’d, but even with that, my wipers skip across the windshield even during heavy rain. It drives me crazy. What brands have you all tried and had good success with?
I've been happy with Bosch Icon's, 22A and 22B. https://amazon.com/dp/B07VCVCTHC
My OEM blades lastest right at three years in North TX, Feb '21 to Jan '24.

I use O ‘ Reilly house brand. Half the price of all the high cost brands. Made by Trico. They are only rubber no matter what brand you buy. Keep about the extra $30.00 in your pocket.😎

Bosch Icon, no comparison. Nothing is remotely close. 1.5 years atleast before getting worn, vs 3-4 months closest competitor.

I would guess people getting more than 6 to 9 months out of wipers don’t live in the south. The sun destroys them in no time in Houston. I feel like I am always buying new wipers because they just smear the heavy rain we get.

Paul,

I live in Houston too, and my experience was similar to yours, most wipers fell apart like rubbish in 3-4 month, regardless of brand

That is, until I tried Bosch Icons. They lost me 1.5 years atleast, and now go on all our vehicles. Cost more up front, but ends up costing less due to not repurchasing them all the time.

Ive also had good luck with the fake Bosch Icons sold on Amazon. Not quite as good, but far better than rainex and such.

One one side i want to save money on such Things, on the other hand i like using premium parts on a brand new premium vehicle. So Bosch Icons it is.

I have the Bosch Envision blades on mine currently and they have been doing well.

It drives me insane when wipers chatter or don’t clean the windshield perfectly so I always buy the more expensive blades.

Another vote for Bosch Icon’s and another fan of Project Farm. I’m in south Texas and my set has lasted me 2.5 years. I’m getting close to replacing because the sun here is brutal on everything. I just keep an eye out for sales on Amazon.
