So if I leave my truck at the airport for a week or two at a time am I going to have a dead battery or will I go into deep sleep mode?

It's those types of scenarios that deep sleep is designed to protect from leaving you stranded.
Still, I'd be tempted to have one of those miniature booster packs just in case.

....... How can I be sure they reset BMS? Does the battery need to be fully charged when installed?.....

I realize this post is a year old, but someone else could use it.....

If using Forscan light on your phone, just put a "battery age" PID on your dashboard. It will increment on the daily anniversary hour from when you reset it. Pic below shows the day I reset mine....
