Welp, it's only been 3 years and 37k miles, but ....i'm getting warnings about the vehicle turning off features to save battery life.
i know from past experience with gf's Ford Edge that it's a bad battery, but after only 3 years? that's a year or two early :cautious::confused:.
i'm not sure if it's going to last another month.
i have a month to decide if i'm buying out this lease or take the new 25' Lariat PB i have on order. i'd hate to drop $200 on a battery just to turn it in.

anyone else have a bad battery after 3 years?

I would put it on a maintainer and try and get one from a scrap yard if I was turning it in shortly.

I think several of us have noticed the same thing, there are some enormous threads on this topic in this forum. So YES, we've seen this a lot, in many cases well before three years. My chosen replacement was from Batteries Plus and cost about $350 after discount and core refund. Others have gone a much more inexpensive route with good results as well.

if you got 3 years, consider yourself lucky. Many of us have had to replace ours in 0-2 years

I experienced the same when my 2021 truck was two years old and less than 20k miles. I addressed the issue and dealer replaced the battery.

Most of our OEM batteries were bad when we drove them off the lot new. Trucks that sat for months waiting on chips were especially affected. I replaced mine with a Walmart H8 at about 1 year, and no issues since.

If you got a full 3 years on a Ford battery with a PB from that time, you are probably about 1 year better than most.

I got 2 years out of my 12V on a 2022 PB. Truck started acting up and throwing BISG codes.

New Die Hard Platinum, and it’s been behaving since I cleared the codes and torqued the battery connections to spec.

check with your dealer there was a known problem with a certain batch of batteries and I had mine (2022) replaced for free, but having said that three years is not unusual, to only get three years out of it. Hopefully that’s the worst of your problems!

A lot has to do with how much your truck runs on eco, / battery. When they run on battery they are not charging. My truck just did this last week, I noticed that my interior lights were not coming on, researched it and a few posts said just put a charger on it over night. I did that and so far, so good. I may just do that once a month because I do a lot of city driving, not many times does truck run with motor for more than 10 minutes at at a time. Time will tell.

I had mine replaced by the dealer after two years, but under warranty. It took quite a bit to convince the dealer to do so. Not that they didn't want to, but Ford requires evidence of a clear failure line to the battery being defective.

Try the dealer route first ... as suggested use a battery maintainer each night - if you are going to trade it in - just nurse it to the end. These new trucks (all of them) have so many power demands that drain all the time - AGM batteries are great for handling these demands because they recharge quickly and constant draining generally does not hurt performance (much). The OEM battery is mid-grade at best.
