Ive been having this issue from time to time where, when I start my truck, the audio doesn't work. The screen says audio off. I turn it on and still nothing. I can spin the volume knob and it does nothing.Stays at zero. I turn the truck off then on again and it still won't work. The only way to remedy is to pull the 30amp fuse for the b&O amp. I pull the fuse, wait for 5 seconds, then re insert it. everything works fine after i do that. I've been having my truck since February of this year and I've had to do this about 6 times.
Anyone else have this issue, knows the cause, or how to fix it?

thanks

Hi, I have the same issue. Very sporadic and what my dealer does is reset the connector to the infotainment - so they say. It happened again today, and it is a pain in the a**.

I will try your fix. I have tried pulling the fuse before, but it didn't change anything. Which fuse are you pulling? Thanks, Fredm2002

Sorry but this is a full load of crap. No one should be required to "reset a connector" or pull a fuse on a 50K or 70K dollar truck to reset a B&O audio system. totally unacceptable IMO. Ford should dig into this and fix it permanently even if it requires swapping the unit.

I agree, take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. Not an option for them to say no. If not, start bitching to Ford. It is up to them to fix it.

transit connect hope to be an f150 owner soon
Most likely your issue is with the communication between the B&O amp and the head unit. The amplifier is digital and the two "talk" to each other. When you turn the knob the head unit tells the amplifier to lower or raise the volume. The amplifier is probably where the issue is if you are able to change stations etc. also if the on-screen volume indicator does not change when you turn the volume knob that would also indicate the amplifier is the issue and finally if pulling the amplifier fuse helps then almost surely the amplifier is locking up and pulling the fuse resets it.

Brought it to the dealer today while the issue (no audio) was happening. The service techs original thought was that it was going to be a module behind the screen. He took it back and hooked it up to the computer. Service guy said all of he hardware passed. No failed devices.
he did say that my system needs an update. A different update than the over the air updates. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I left the dealership with a scheduled appointment to go back next month.
I’m surprised the system passed. Not sure how.
Stay tuned

I just experienced this issue the other day. All of a sudden the audio stopped working and I could not turn it back on. I tried clicking sources, and was able to navigate between AM / FM / Satellite, but with a major delay (lag). When trying to turn the volume dial, it either showed a value of zero and would not move, or would not appear on the screen at all. I tried the in cabin sync option as well, where it prompted me to speak l, but no audio response. I also tried putting in a location on the navigation to test whether I would get audio instructions; nothing. The navigation worked, but no audio guidance.
I pulled the amp fuse and it was fine; put back in hoping for a reset and nothing.
Took to the dealer and they unhooked the battery and checked the grounding on spot; nothing. Made an appointment for this Monday to bring back in. Will keep everyone updated. Service rep said something about a module, but I’m going to mention to replace amplifier.

I wanted to provide an update on my audio issue (that I have also seen other F150 owners suffer with on youtube). Here are the notes from the dealership techs (word for word):
Confirmed cannot adjust volume and no sound. Pull codes and found no communication from the audio digital processing module. DSP failed network test. Checked Oasis for related reports, found none. Performed PPT U1 no communication from DSP. Checkedall the connectors on the DSP module, good. Checked power and ground wires to the DSP module, good. Had to remove the front display and APIM to get to the gateway module connectors and inspect for damage, none found. Checked for open on the HS-CAN network wires from the gateway module to the DSP module, good. Re-connected everything and checked for operation from the DSP module, no change.
Replaced the DSP module and performed PMI. Audio works now and controls are normal. Vehicle is ok now.
PARTS: ML3T18T806BH (ERADIO)

Looks like it was the Digital Signal Processing unit.

Hope this helps any frustrated owners!

So I have a 2016 F150 that I purchase used in 2017. I have had this issue on and off from the beginning. Ford changed a lot of parts in the dash but nothing has fixed it. Only thing that works on the spot is disconnecting the battery for a second or just park the truck and later it is all working fine. The last post seems helpful so I will check with my ford service department and see if the DSP module was replaced.

I have been having the same audio issue with my 21 Limited. Getting ready to take it to the dealer in the next few weeks. I wanted to see if anyone who thought it was fixed by replacing the amp or DSP still thought it was good to go. Also, there’s a TSB out for APIM software update that addresses SYNC4 issues. I was going to have the dealer check that as well.

Any other possible fixes found for no audio? Thanks!
