I am going to order a 2024 F150 Lariat with the BAP. I am not sure if there will be any advantage to the 22” option wheels vs the 20” that come with the truck. On the build page the only tires available are 20” or am I missing something here?

22's are fairly un-truck like. I admit that they can potentially look good, but they are a compromise in almost every aspect of truck performance/ride.

On a truck, there's so much that you can determine about such things if your tire size has more sidewall to work with.
In fact, 18" wheels offer even additional range of choice regarding those aspects.

No functional advantage , only plus is if one favors the look of more wheel and less tire sidewall.

22 tires are more expensive and there are less options. To upsize for a bit more sidewall the options become even more limited.

Looks much better than 20s, IMO. What options are the '24s with BAP and 22"? I don't believe I've seen it.

A bummer, IMO, that the 2024 Lariat standard wheel is 20" with no factory 18" option available at all.

I guess Ford has determined the market for higher trims is dominated by folks like the OP with a different measure for a truck's functional attributes. Nothing wrong with a choice for thin sidewalls for those so inclined, it's just not for me.

Oh well, so it goes, just another reason to be thankful for my 2022.

Sincerely wishing the best for the OP with his stylish new truck.

The factory 20” has 6.5” of sidewall. I think they look great at 33” tall and are very capable for paved and unpaved roads and towing. For frequent off road use I would get a different wheel and tire combination. I wouldn’t off road a 2024 Lariat anyway lol, but I don’t have the scratch. If I did I might I suppose. What size wheel/tire does a RaptorR have?

+1.

20 inch is about the largest I would go on a pickup. If I could get a 2024 Platinum with 18" factory wheels, I'd probably opt for that.

No advantage to 22s. Rougher ride, more fragile, lower mpg.
I just think they look less capable of doing truck things. Form should follow function and the 22’s cross the line for me. 20s hit the mark unless I’m lifting it etc.

If by "advantage" you mean worse performance, a less comfortable ride, and more frequent tire blowouts, then yes, there is an advantage. Stick with the 20's.

I'm SHOCKED that they got rid of 18s on the Lariat, since that's what I have. If mine came with 20s I would buy different wheels, immediately. Gross.

Zero advantage to 22s. Tires cost more AND there are more than likely fewer options than 20s.

Lower MPGs come from the fact that tires are lighter than wheels. A two inch taller wheel is heaver than the two inch smaller tire.

no advantage with 22's! other than the look that some people like, there are more disadvantages. Cost is way higher, terrible ride, tires cost way more, less side wall on the tire makes for much higher chance of broken rims when hitting potholes or off roading, less gas milage.
