My wife was driving the PB as we headed up into the Idaho mountains last week. After many miles behind a string of slower cars we finally reached a passing lane. She pushes the pedal down and as we're passing the lead (slow) car she says: "OH! I'm going 105!"

Lol , yes . People still have the 80's and 90's mindset that more cubes = more power .. But maybe he was ultimately referring to apples to apples as a boosted coyote will make more power in theory.
What I'm more cringed about is "more reliable cuz the turbos " quotes , 12V cummins are turbo and legendary for reliability , I can also count at least a dozen dead reliable gas turbo engines starting with one of my first cars with a 2.0 TSI that never had any work done but beat on everyday , and that's a VW XD... In reality turbo engines whether gas or especially diesel are usually overbuilt and with proper maintenance can be just as reliable or outlast a NA engine , this also reminds me of rotary engines , sooo misunderstood ...

We have TN Farm Bureau here, but you must have insurance thru them to gain access to the portal for the $500. (The dealer has to verify your membership as well). Not sure it varies in other states.
That is not the case with the Texas Farm Bureau and I suspect with the rest of the US as well. I do not have their insurance and it worked fine for me.

There is no mention of their insurance being required in the fine print.

I guess they assume if you sign up for Farm Bureau, then you're interested in having insurance with them..

Also says you can NOT combine the Member $500 with AXZD plans (which generate much more of a discount---- we're talking about THOUSANDS off a F150).

At the time, I did have insurance with the (house insurance), but the dealer said "Do you have insurance thru Farm Bureau".

I bought a 2022 with the 5.0 to replace the 2014 with the 3.5 and I don’t regret it.

Is this a common misconception?
Yes. And I think the raw sound of a 5.0L coyote gives people a +50 HP sensation in their brains. It's a great motor that pulls hard to high RPMs, very exciting to drive. The 3.5L is tuned way too quiet, and the broader powerband (which makes it even faster) almost deceives you as to the full power output - too smooth.

All those jokers in that Ford dealer pretending they would supercharge their $60,000 5.0L trucks - yeah right. I didn't watch every single answer but found it interesting that there was also a racial element to the answers, somewhat.

Well I hope that holds true , there is some talk about block porosity , cylinder deactivation , belt driven oil pump along with some other occasional stuff , but you can all hate me for saying that if reliability was my concern woulda went with a ridgeline or tacoma even Titan seems very solid and last year they're making one, no I decided I want the 10 speed and Two turbos, fun and reliability don't really like each other :p

they are all solid engines . I went from a 2018 5.0 to a 2022 3.5 ECO . dont regret it either . Loved my 5.0 and love this engine too but i have to say that low end torque feels sweet!

appreciate the comments and the mention of declining prices even further after the '24s begin showing up. It may be best to ride it out a bit longer to see what it does. I'm in no rush with no issues out of my '13 outside of regular maintenance.
Looks like you and I are in the same boat. I got a 2012 XLT 3.5 with 120k on it now. The cam phasers are in desperate need of replacement but I don’t know if it’s even worth spending the money on repair or just trading up now. It’s been a loyal companion to me and my family for almost 12 years and still kind of reluctant on getting rid of it but the longer I wait, the more expensive and unobtainable new trucks get.

Everyone obviously is gonna have their own opinion and even the reliability aspect is so debatable at this point here is my 2 cents from a 20+ car owner at the age of 29..
I went to the dealership with the sole purpose of buying a 23' F150 Regular Cab about 4 months ago . I knew i was gonna be in between the 5.0 and the 3.5 ecoboost but I wasn't sure which one . I have not owned neither engine options but driven them both in a bone stock 18? Mustang GT and a unknown MY SHO with meth kit and tune. And knew both these motors were very capable in essence ( i know the versions in trucks are a lil different yada yada ) .
First i drove the 5.0 short bed , to sum it up was smooth and felt strong and progressive with the 10spd .
Next was the 3.5 long bed ( since they don't come with short bed unfortunately ) , could feel the difference in body before I even got on the highway , once I started merging I stepped on the pedal, it downshifted and started lighting the tires up at 55mph .. Needless to say I have a long bed in the driveway XD.
Torque is immense , if I try really hard I can manage around 30mpg on highway and I'm patiently waiting on a tune and a better rear end setup which basically leaves any 5.0 in the dust unless they have a blower .. My goal wasn't to spend 10k+ in mods on a 40k truck but still smoke almost anything off the lot under 100k and 3.5 ECO REG CAB will do XD
Did you get tuned? MPT is very very good. I’m running in 11s with factory wheels tires turbos, pump gas. Just intake mods and tune. 4door 33in tires
