...It failed and they released the truck anyway as is.
Releasing as-is wasn't their fault, I was leaving to go to Wisconsin on the 7th to help set up a large fireworks show and needed the truck for that. I'd drop it off to have them crank on it some more, but being almost out of warranty I figured it'd be worth having the tools to work on it myself instead.

But it has the correct Software version. He jsut needs to get it to sync on fords end so it releases the next update.
Makes sense. That's why I'm seeing it's still on Sync 20301.

So everyone knows. I remote in and got the code cleared.

Issue is the bad config migrated to fords end.

So its the waiting game now. We will have to wait for the config I entered to migrate to fords servers so we can complete a PMI. We cant complete anything at this point it will always run a config and reenter the bad config causing the 2101 DTC and causing it to error out.

SO I corrected several config issues he had. Looks like hte previous owner was trying to disable the Trailer settings.. No idea why.

It'd be cool if Ford ever provides a trigger that could force that update session. But it is what it is.

Regardless, he has NO REASON to let go of the keys to his truck to the dealership. :)

Ford should hire @Jesse-Infotainment and give him a large team and let him lose to fix things ford screwed up. Ford sales 2ould increase immediately!
I do wonder what it would be like If i did have the tools FOrd has.

I do wonder what it would be like If i did have the tools FOrd has.
The sky would be the limit. And, just think, the OTA's and FDRS updates would work first time. WOW, I have goose bumps just thinking about it.:D:D

As far behind as your truck is, it is worth paying another $50 and do it yourself. Once you get up to date, you can wait for OTA's to do their thing. Ford's OTA process is garbage and the older updates your truck needs are rarely pushed out to the trucks that still need them. I would recommend updating your truck fully and then just follow the forum to keep up with that's going on when new updates are released.

An update to this issue

Once the changes eventually got updated on Ford's side, I reached out to Jesse for help getting the first couple updates figured out.

It turned out my battery was bad too, preventing the GWM/TCU/APIM updates from reliably happening, when I was doing the updates, each one ended in a restart required loop where it asks to reboot the truck. I had noticed other weirdness with the battery (stop/start stopped working occasionally, radio would say "shutting down to save power", etc.)

New battery, and with Jesse's help to get through the initial couple GWM/TCU updates, I was able to fully update the APIM!

Huge thanks to this forum and Jesse-Infotainment specificially.

I downloaded and installed the factory as-built for sccm and abs but dtc still exists (I did upgrade IPC and couple other things yesterday but never got any errors. What I screw up or what can I do to get this to clear?

When you say you upgraded the IPC, you mean you swapped it out or you updated the existing one?
