FORScan GWM DTC

I finally got around to clearing the codes using FORScan, but the GWM DTC remains and won't go away. It says: Malfunction indicator lamp is off for this DTC. Module: Gateway Module A Code U2100.
The dealer presumably replaced the Gateway Module based on the fact that they ran a PMI procedure in January. Does this code indicate a defective module, or is the PMI the problem? I might note that this truck has never received an OTA update and is stuck in the 2021 software purgatory. Should I bring it back to the dealer, or is the Mongoose route the only option to "unfreeze" the APIM?

Thats a initial config not completed DTC.

If the Gateway was never fully installed then youll never get an update.

The gateway info HAS TO match what is on the server or you cant even manually update

Interesting. Is that because FDRS won't pull the update due to the mismatch?

It will pull an update but it wont ever install.. Mismatch

I guess a trip to the dealer is in order. Shouldn't they have known it didn't fully install?

@dzacco You mind posting your VIN so we can take a look at your truck?

Well, mostly so he can take a look at your truck. lol I'm curious to see what they did, but I don't have the knowledge to tell you how to fix it.

Back in May of 2022, they seem to have a tried a GWM swap and the programming/PMI didn't go well...at all. However, on the 23rd of January, they seem to have gotten your GWM right from what I can see. FDRS history shows a successful PMI, config and update process to your GWM. They also updated your TCU.

Your truck was actually sent a GWM update in 1/4 which timed out and failed two week later. This is the first time I see a truck on Sync 20301 get an OTA sent to it, and GWM OTA update is not one I remember seeing before, so I am guess it is a very old one. I want to say they did your GWM correctly, but since they did not update your APIM to get you out of 20301, you may still be in OTA limbo, but I will digress to @Jesse-Infotainment to see what he sees.

Its hard to say. The vehicle history doesnt show the vehicle submissions anymore. That info helped me a lot.. If there was a PMI that was successful then the gateway would be correct. Ill take a look later..

The gateway OTA canceled because you are at the verison it sent out.

So at this point youd have to update manually. That would be your only option.

The gateway DTC could go away after you get a few updates done. I wouldnt worry too much about it now the gateway has been confirmed to be PMI and matched.
