I still like mine a lot. Very quiet and very good in rain. Mild offroading is good but I do nothing serious. I lost 1 mpg but I went from 275 65 18 to 275 70 18 SL. The weight is only 46 so I think this is just the speedo as I haven't recalibrated.

That’s a tough question to answer. I’m going to go with somewhere around 2 to 4 MPG hit for my conditions and driving habits. See a post from some time ago where it was 25 and change but also 27 degrees cooler!

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...getting-with-your-powerboost.1373/post-465305

Here is an example of today. Obvious quite a bit of difference in total travel with idle time as well. But I’ve yet to get a solid run at 22mpg or better. But it’s also been HOT since I’ve put the tires on. Notice the electric miles

You will find forum members claiming great MPG with lifted trucks etc…in comparison to the PB. I state BS. Get the pen and paper and do the math. Do not rely on the mpg lie-o-meter. Without some other engineering to conserve fuel those trucks with poorer aerodynamics, lifted 6” and running 35-37 AT tires weighing 65 and more (often MORE) lbs each are getting high MPG. NOPE!

IMG_3139.jpeg

See pic of the two tires in the size I wanted. I went with the P-rated tire stock number 224160. 47 lbs each is just under 10 more lbs of tire on each corner. (From memory the stock scorpions I had were 39 lbs.) For what I tow and the off road to the fishing hole these work just fine for me. That tire weight is going to affect MPG. Changing the aerodynamics and losing the air dam height (it’s still working but still not able to clean up as much air under the truck) is going to change the MPG. I may decide to just take the air dam off. Many PB owners on here have done so.

Now there is more data to consider such as changing the tire diameter in forscan that could change the mpg readings speedometer and possible transmission shifts etc and so on that a bunch of guys on here much smarter than I could speak to…However I will let you all have fun with the debates.

I just liked the tires and wanted the look and I just drive the damn truck the way I want to and I know I am taking a MPG hit. I don’t care and I have not done the math…so I estimate at least a 2-4 mpg hit on the daily.

Do NOT expect the tire to be as quiet as your stock tire unless you already have an AT. What I can speak to is that the G3 is louder than the stock Scorpions I had. Louder than the Michelin Defenders I have run in the past. But not even close to as loud as the Toyo AT3’s I ran on a 2019 EB.

I hope this helps!
thanks for the info I'm doing 25k to 28 k per year thats why I was asking got a 21 with only 19,600 mile on it , do a tom of back 2 lane roads, had a explorer before this and only getting 21 with that trhe powerboost so far has been a lot better on mpg

Thought I would update. Approx 10 degrees cooler today. Another solid run for me. Mix of interstate 2 lane Hwy and residential. Yep…I’m on the phone with Pete during this pic! And in eco mode. 22.2 MPG. Per the mpg meter. I expect improvement with cooler weather. Time for an oil change! Every 5K tomorrow. I did try to baby it a little today for improved results.

I still like mine…..but I will be going with Bridgestone Dueler Ascent or possibly a more street oriented Michelin Defender LTX AS2 when it’s time to replace them.

I've got another 750-1,000 miles on mine. Wearing evenly, ride good, very good in the rain, and quiet. What little offroad driving I've done lately seem to be on par with most AT tires. They arent MT's but I've not struggled to find traction. Aired them down to about 20-22psi for driving in the sand in the OBX and never had troubles getting around.

If something happened to my truck tomorrow and I had to get a new vehicle, I would certainly get another set of g3's right away.

Very helpful. I'm thinking of going to the G3 in the 275/65r20 but I'm honestly leaning towards staying stock size and going with the coopers for now

Update: My tires arrived and they were installed 3 days ago. So far, they look a lot better than the stock Hankook ones and are quieter to me. I went slightly taller, at 275/65R20. I should have some wet roads in the very near future, to report back how they feel in wet weather.

Could you provide a few more photos as I am thinking of this exact tire and size for my 2022 KR.

Now that I have had these tires for about 9 months and 9019 miles, I am pleased with them. Unlike the OEM Hankook Dynapro at2, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are wearing very evenly. After 9000 miles, the outside and inside tread on all tires is 11/32". I have found the dry, wet, off road, and winter traction is good whereas the winter traction with the Hankook's was poor. My gas mileage during one summer with the Nitto's was 22.3 MPG and the Dynapro's was 24.8 MPG, which you can see in the Fuelly graph below. The big drop in MPG in August 2024 was due to towing a moving trailer from Colorado to Tennessee. Although the difference is 2.5 MPG, I think last summer with the Dynspro's was under more favorable MPG conditions with much more suburb driving at ~50 MPH due to a summer project. We have done quite a bit more off road driving with the Nitto's. Taking that into account, I think we lost ~1.5 MPG with the Nitto's.

Hi. I have a 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid and spent spend a LOT on making a good choice in the truck investment AND tire investment. I avoided the Nitto due to "soft rubber".... just wearing a little too quick from the reports. I settled on the
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent. (Costco special order)
So far, the Duelers are super ! I like them on and off road AND my truck "reports" in the stats---- that the MPG is the same as the factory original -- BF Goodrich On/Off roaders, VERY happy so far !! great, agressive off road tread AND great MPG. Scott

I'm torn between the Nitto G3 and Cooper Road+Trail. My Hankook factories are down to 6/32 and will be replaced in the next few months. I'm 95% pavement in NC, but I do take it on gravel roads, forest service roads, some random fields when deer hunting, and next year will start taking it west for pheasant hunting. Road noise, handling, and reliability are my top concerns.

I was all set on the Nitto G3 until reading Tire Rack reviews and watching their video where they mention road noise and horrible winter driving. The Coopers top the charts in the same tests, but I've had Coopers before and they were less than ideal (although in fairness they were HT tires and I was taking them places they had no business going, plus this was almost 20 years ago). The Coopers are about $30 cheaper per tire.

I've ran the Toyo AT3 on my previous truck and they were amazing, but they are priced out of my budget at the moment (almost $100 more per tire).
