I agree with you about the cheapening of these trucks. I have a 21 XLT 302a that has quite a few more options than newer models. I like the truck but I would buy a GMC in a heartbeat if they had dependable motors. Cylinder de-activation is a definite no with me.I whole heartedly agree! I came from a 21 XLT 301a High and you can tell Ford has nickel and dimed these trucks now.....halogen bulbs all over....no bed camera.....no bed lights.....cheap feeling leather steering wheel
I agree with a lot of the concerns over some of the changes that require attention every time U drive, especially when we tow. But overall, I believe that the 2024 Updates were a real improvement. We traded our 2022 Toyota Tundra because of its engine recall. And we are real happy with our 2024 F150 3.5 eb BAP and hopefully Ford can do some updates to simplify some of the irritating items. My ‘25 is a lease and once this is up I am seriously considering buying a low mileage 2023 to skip the ‘24 “refresh”
Oh crikey…………fair question, I will answer you with a little more respect than your response.....the hybrid powertrain is why I purchased the vehicle
Seems like they could save some money if they'd just standardize more.My 22 STX always shows it at the bottom of the screen. For about two weeks I couldn't figure out what the constantly changing fraction was telling me. 1/10, 2/10, 3/10 and so on. Then it hit me what it was.
Same here on my 2022 ICE, always on when in gear, just below the PRNDM display, with any locked-out gear numbers greyed-out (much more obvious to the eye than in the second pic), the "M" highlighted to "M#" when a gear is selected manually.Mine shows the row of 10, with the current gear in red.
Increasingly, I wish I'd gone with an XL. The "flight check" is a PITA. I just want to drive the damned thing, not "interface" with it.For those that haven't seen an XL dash

What is this flight check?Increasingly, I wish I'd gone with an XL. The "flight check" is a PITA. I just want to drive the damned thing, not "interface" with it.
Shut off auto start/stop, hit OK a couple times to acknowledge that I have some of the nanny's turned off (or that sensors/cameras are blocked: we already have winter here), select either Sport or Tow-Haul drive mode, hit the "-" a couple times to lock out upper gears, adjust air distribution on the HVAC (it seems to have a mind of its own at each restart), and sometimes reset seat heat setting. Yes, I need to get into it with Forescan and change what I can. But damnit, the defaults should be "where I left it".What is this flight check?
Unless the previous drive was in a different mode, or I have something plugged into PPOB, I start and drive, with no lip from Hal![]()
