So I have a 2021 XPT with Pro Trailer Assist and yaw sensor installed on a single axle untility trailer. I do not care about the trailer camera, however I would like the TPMS for the two trailer tires.

The 12 pin in the bumper only has the two wires for the yaw sensor, so I would need the 8 pin harness for the truck. My 7/12 outlet in the bumper is fine, and I have the "docking" dummy outlet on the trailer for the yaw cable to plug in when not using the trailer.

So I need for the trailer the cable that plugs into the truck and has the yaw sensor connector, the TPMS sensor and the un-needed camera connector and the TPMS module and two sensors for the tires(or maybe three if I want to monitor the spare tire).

So does anyone have the part numbers for the:
1. Trailer Cable(that connects to Yaw, TPMS, and Camera)
2. TPMS module for trailer
3. Tire sensors

If I buy the $520 dollar kit I get several things I already have.

One other question. My trailer is storage of site right now. Do I need to be plugged into it to see if the tire pressure stuff shows up in the settings under towing, as they are not there without the trailer plugged in.

Thanks Chris

I do a 1450 mile run in the fall and another in the spring each year. During the Winter the storage box comes off the trailer so a Kawasaki KRX 1000 side by side will fit on it. In the summer a Quad gets hauled around on the trailer.

Just FYI / FWIW ....

When my trailer is NOT plugged in, the second item on the menu list under Towing settings is "Trailer Tire Info >" and when I click that menu item I get the message "Trailer with TPMS is capability is not detected ".

If you don't find that on your display without your trailer connected then you may need some FORScan programming to enable the trailer TPMS setup and display capability.

Sorry, I've got no idea what that may involve or how to do it; some of the earlier posts in this thread about FORScan programming for these features may be of help.

For comparison context: My 2022 F150 is 'as delivered' with no FORScan programming done on it. Unlike yours it was delivered without the 12-pin bumper connector and with 'stickers' instead of the 'hardware' yaw-detection wiring / module for the trailer. But the same as a yours it did have the '2-wire' truck harness connector stashed behind the rear bumper, not the truck harness connector fully-populated with wires required to support TPMS and cam.

Hope that helps, good luck!

Well I have been through this thread so many times I am spinning like a top.
Here is part numbers I pulled out of it. Some do not show up on the internet. I am going to take them to dealer parts department and have them check and price them. The $520 for the TPMS kit may be the cheapest route to take. I believe that it is the
LC3Z1A189E Kit.

OK, checked again and I do not have the selection for trailer camera on the 12" display and no line for trailer TPMS under towing. When I get 3.5.3 I will check again.

Sorry if this has been covered already, but do you need to have the 360 camera in order to add the aux trailer camera? My connector above the spare tire has all the camera wires, but the 12 pin socket only has the 2 yaw sensor wires.

An update to my post describing my particular goals for the integrated TPMS+Cam kit. Quick summary: I'm looking to retain the 7/4 pin trailer socket on my bumper and add a 7/12 pin socket in the bed of my truck for my 5th wheel RV TPMS+Cam.

Two hopefully self-explanatory pics to illustrate what I found installed in my 2022 'build 2' F150 (truck specs in my signature block below)
TRUCK 01 - CONNECTORS BACK OF BUMPER.png

TRUCK 03 - CONNECTORS BACK OF BUMPER.png

Here's a table showing the connector / circuit details

F150 TRAILER TPMS AND CAM CIRCUIT CONNECTOR PATH.png

Wanting all 9 of the TPMS+Cam+Yaw wires populated on C439, and wanting that not at the rear bumper but at the driver's side of the bed interior, my plan is to PosiTap the necessary wires where they enter C423 above the spare and build a long harness terminating with this connector I've ordered which should plug into the 12-pin socket provided with the TMPS+Cam kit from Ford (the Workshop Manual lists WPT-1125 as a repair pigtail connector for C439).

For the 7-pin portion I've ordered this "T" extension harness which I hope will mate with the Ford bits (I used this harness for my 2005 F150).

Other than tapping tie wires at C423 and inserting the "T" at the OE bumper connector I'll not touch my current setup, leaving the 7/4 pin in place as is for my utility trailers; the existing 2-wire C439 will simply be left as is, capped and abandoned.

I'll update again after I make the test installation ....

Appreciate all the information you have shared here. Wondering if you ever got your harness working. With harnesses hard to come by thinking of making one also. Thanks

Got everything installed today on the airstream, but after connecting it all, the truck doesn't seem to recognize the trailer TPMS or the camera. Now, @Buyer2021 said they have a trailer TPMS option in their menu even when it's not connected, but I don't. It looks like I'll need some programming. Has anyone figured this out yet before I go down a rabbit hole?

EDIT: well, i was scrolling too fast. post #137 outlines it perfectly: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/any-update-on-a-trailer-tmps-system.4989/post-177055

As promised, a bit more on my experience. This post is all about my specific truck (2021 King Ranch 601 Power Boost, Max Tow, 360 Camera, Blue Cruise Prep, built in Feb 2021, OTA update 2.3.0). For pro-trailer back-up, it came only with the yaw sensor (no stickers). When I ordered the truck, I tried to include the trailer TMPS / camera option, but dealer said the order couldn't be placed with that option (in Sep 2020).

About the harnesses
Below is a picture of the ML3Z-13A76-TFA harness lying on top of my old harness. “A” is where the harness connects to the rest of the truck, “B” is the trailer 7 & 12 pin areas, and C&D are the parking sensors at the far ends of the bumper. As you can see the two harnesses are almost identical, except for the far ends near “C” and “D”. It's too bad we have to swap the entire harness when all we need is a few more wires populated from “A” to “B”….all I can think is that some sort of supply chain issue must have forced Ford to not to populate these wires.

HarnessOverview.jpg

This is a close up of the “D” end, you can see there is a plastic bracket for the dual exhaust in the bumper (just taped on) and the two push-pin style on the single exhaust harness. The white one is just taped on and I expect could be transferred. The black one is the style with a built in zip-tie, you could replace with one of same from the trailer kit.

EndClose Up.jpg

Is the new harness for four parking sensors in the bumper or six?

Where did you mount the camera on your Airstream? Did you mount it in place of the factory wireless camera?

I did. do note that the instructions don't specify the proper "up" direction of the camera. the side where the harness connects is the driver's side. i'll post a picture here in a few.

Awesome. Thanks. Sorry to pepper you with questions. Were you able to use anything from the original installation? Bracket? Original screw holes? I was thinking about replacing the harness on the truck side to get TPMS functionality but hadn’t really given too much thought to actually using the camera.

To followup for people that may be looking to do this. I was able to cover the previous holes on the airstream from the OEM camera, but there was an additional penetration required. Brackets are specific to the Ford camera and everything needs to be replaced.
