Thanks everyone. Today it’s getting a new spray in bed liner installed. I’m hoping I can get it on Saturday but my guess is likely Monday. Funny thing is this truck is only 1-inch longer compared to my 2WD 2014 RCLB with 3.7 v6 and only 184 lbs heavier which is impressive given the V8 engine, longer/bigger cab, and 4WD powertrain.

I had my 2014 in my garage last night to repair a broken MAF sensor wire and it’s tight but it fits and with the garage door closed I have a few feet in front of the truck to spare. This new truck should fit.

I made a similar decision. I ordered a RCSB 2024 in gray and waited patiently for about 5 months, just a month short though of waiting long enough. I was in a lease for an EV and saw an opportunity to get rid of my lease for a supercrew 2021 XLT with the 5.0. Loved the features, loved the truck even though it was used and went for it as I came out clean out of my EV lease only 4 months since getting it. When my RCSB arrived the dealer called me and made me a killer offer on my XLT offering more than I paid for it, and a great deal on the RCSB, I had gotten use to having the extra room in the truck though, gotten use to the 360 cam, heated seats and the power seat which was the biggest deal breaker. I'm only about 6 ft but the seating position in the RCSB wasn't as comfortable. The truck did drive sportier though, acceleration was better, and it would kick out that rear end so nicely. Still think about how cool it would have been to build the RCSB, but I am happy with my XLT I just hope it is reliable for me as seeing everyone's transmission woes is a little scary.

Love the story! Congrats on the new truck, glad you were able to find one with the engine you wanted. I had a 2011 SuperCab as my daily until buying my current truck and it was great. Not huge in the back but enough room for me at 6"2" to sit without feeling too cramped. I would have seriously considered it for this truck but it wasn't an option for the PowerBoost in 2024.

@ebatr24 , great story and I think you made the right decision. As I get older I value quiet and comfort more and more.

Here is a picture my son took of the actual truck from the night of the test drive as we drove away.

BTW, my daughter is already loving the new to her 2014 CX5 and we already sold her 2010 Corolla for 3k when the dealer only offered 1k in trade.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
I totaled my loaded out 2023 F150 XLT SuperCab. Could not order another SuperCab for 2024, so I shopped around and found a 21 F150 SuperCab in Iowa (I live in Dallas, Texas area). I love my SuperCabs, my 6 1/2" beds, and 5.0's. 2002 SuperCab (4.6 V8 was woefully underpowered), 2014 XLT SuperCab , 2021 Lariat SuperCab.

I like the suicide doors which gives me much better access to the rear seat. Plus the truck has cleaner lines than 4-door. No one ever rides in my rear seats anyway. I love the 5.0's and the 6 1/2' beds. I can't imagine how anyone can live with a 5 1/2' bed.

Sorry to hear about your 2023 Supercab but glad you found something nice. I always try to find something as new as possible because the road salt kills the underside of vehicles here unless you stay on it every year which I do. With your truck being a southern truck though you dont have to worry about that.

Just curious but did yours have the 3.31 axle or 3.73 axle with the 5.0.

I picked up my new to me truck Tuesday 1/7/25 but I haven't had a chance to actually see it in the daylight until today so I took some pictures. First impressions while driving it home:
  1. The V8 is powerful and feels effortless and smooth to me. I drove it in Sport mode.
  2. People complain about lack of low end torque but to me it feels great.
  3. Its super quiet inside.
  4. The stock speakers actually sound half decent for a none amplifier factory system.
  5. The technology that Ford puts in these base model trucks is quite amazing compared to 10 years ago.
  6. It rides similar to my company F-150 but maybe slightly smoother.
  7. The remote start automatically turns on the defrost which, finally a manufacturer has done?.
  8. The Aluminum body is cool! I won’t have to worry about rust as much.
Things that I have noticed that are not so good:
  1. Fit and finish is not so great. I can see misaligned door gaps or large gaps around the doors but I believe I can adjust them (come on Ford & UAW).
  2. Some trim pieces do not fit well so looks like Ford still has some qaulity control issues.
  3. The Ford dealer didn’t change the oil which isn't a big deal at 4,600 miles but they said they would. Oil life monitor says 60% left.
  4. Ford didn't paint some drivetrain parts underneath such as U-joint yokes, parts of rear axle, and front CV joints (come on Ford) so I will make some time to paint those before the surface rust becomes an issue three years from now.
  5. The battery is low on charge so I have had my 1.25 amp charger on it for 12-hours now and still charging. ??‍♂.
Pictures of the truck which I love so far overall:

I bought a new (ordered) 21 SuperCab 8’box mid level XLT 4x4.
more than happy with the v8. Have a 20.3 lifetime avg on fuel mileage that has been corrected in the engineering mode.
It has a nice, but firm ride, just can’t really park it anywhere.
This is also my first SuperCab with rear doors. I generally keep the rear seat up and the clamshell doors work well for me and is very convenient for most stuff I would like to keep secure or dry.
I have come from 40+ years of esentially base V8/manual trans pickups, and this one is my first automatic.
The only options added to the interior was buckets/console, and remote start.
Greasy side options were big gas tank, locking rear and HDPP wheels.
no fancy lights, big entertainment display, cameras, or self driving crap.

Before you have this truck too long, get a larger H8 battery.
my original H6 lasted 18mo, and the replacement only a year.
putting the larger battery in cured a bunch of little crap as well.

battery isues will start with auto stop/start not working, window doing strange things, and a couple other little things that are not really annoying, but weird. H8 battery is a tight fit, but the existing battery blanket is not gonna fit

I saw the forum posts regarding the battery issues with the smaller battery. In fact I noticed that the battery does seem small for the size of that engine and all the demanding electronics. Now that I am aware of this being a potential issue I will keep an eye on it, and if it acts up then I may get something larger or stronger. It doesn’t take much to damage a lead acid battery, especially one that is already at near capacity. Just a few discharges below 50% SOC and the battery wont have enough reserve capacity to hold 12.5 volts for long.

A friend asked me how I like my F-150 so far and I told him the short answer is, I really like it despite all the compromises that come with a truck. The V8 is powerful and doesn't need to rev to get this truck moving, yet if you ask it to, it will rev to 6800 RPM and ask for more which is a testament to its Mustang GT engine roots. The ten speed auto does a good job balancing acceleration and economy seemingly without compromise. The interior is surprisingly nice despite it being the lowest trim with cloth seats and rubber floor. The technology that comes packaged with this thing is amazing. I love the 12-inch infotainment screen. The radio sounds decent for a base radio. The 4WD works well. It has remote start and despite using it every time to warm up the truck and doing all short trips the gas mileage (computer est) shows 17.4 mpg which is impressive considering this is a 400 HP V8 in a 4,700 lb vehicle. My company truck with NA V6 with 85% highway is averaging between 16.9 and 17.4 mpg currently but does ~ 18.5-19.5 in the summer. The remote start automatically turned on the window defrost and then turns it off as soon as you put the key in which is simple but so cool.

So far I have done a few minor improvements which are:
  1. Rough Country wheel well liners which were easy to install and will help keep the grime and road salt off my frame and other susceptible steel parts.
  2. I lined the glove box and center console with foam pad. Apparently Ford didn’t think it was worth it yet anything I put in there rattles against the hard plastic inside and drives me nuts..
  3. Painted the rusting axle front and rear u-joints and yokes. For some reason Ford left these parts unfinished and they looked awful with all that surface rust on them. Same thing with the front CV joints. Come on Ford!
  4. Completely waxed this thing from top to bottom and used Griots foaming cannon with ceramic car wash to wash the underside to help protect it from corrosion. The ceramic wash adds hydrophobic wax to any -paint or metal surface and that helps keep corrosion from taking hold.
  5. Added Husky Liners Weather Beater floor mats front and rear.
A few thongs I don't like are:
  1. Sometimes the top hinge by my ear for the smaller rear suicide door makes noise as the truck travels slowly over rough terrain which I hope is just a simple hinge adjustment.
  2. Fords fit and finish is not that great when it comes to door alignment. I had to adjust the passenger side strike plate to suck the door in a little because it was sticking out a noticeable amount. I thought about taking it to the dealer, but my experience in the past has not been good with dealership visits and technicians who don’t want to be bothered.
Things I do like:
  1. The aluminum body panels and bed are nice knowing they are less susceptible to corrosion compared to a steel body, especially the bed. I hate rust which drives me crazy!
  2. This truck is extremely quiet inside, almost luxury car quiet.
  3. The Black paint which is agate black is nicer than I thought it would be. It has some nice sparkle when the sun hits it. My wife has a black Kia Telluride and it looks nice, but it doesn’t have that sparkle in it like this truck does.
Future Upgrades I plan on doing are:
  1. Window tint for the rear window and suicide door windows. Doing research on this now.
  2. I’m looking for paint film protection for the front of the truck.
  3. I’d like to put a nice tonneau cover on it, but I haven’t decided if I want a hard folding one or something else.
  4. Power seat upgrade with heated seats if I can do it without too much trouble. I’m hoping I can make the seat more comfortable, although it is comfortable as it is. I’m not too crazy about the side bolsters on the bottom seat cushion and think Ford made them a little too big.

I used the truck to do some light work during the last snow storm by hauling an Arien 28 Deluxe to my 94 year old grandfathers house to remove snow. I also hauled some nice mahogany to my friends house which he appreciated.

Ive been using this truck every weekend to haul things such as furniture and construction supplies. I still havent put the pedal to the metal yet to explore the 5.0 v8 willingness to move this beast but I did push that pedal gradually to about 3/4 of the way accelerating up a long highway ramp and this thing really moves. I also took it to the dump to get rid of some furniture and when I was on the scale I noticed this pig tips the scale at just under 4900 lbs. I also ended up parked next to an old school F-150 XLT so I took a picture of it.

This truck is stupid fast! Anyone that claims the F-150 with the 5.0 is slow needs to get a head examination. ?. I hooked up my old but still functional Tesla Gtech to measure the 0-60 times in an area that is nice and flat and put it in 4wd and left it in normal mode. For the first time ever I floored this pig and it surprised me how quickly it jumped off the line and it sounds fantastic doing it too. 0-60 MPH came in a blistering 5.41 seconds which is just mind blowing for me given that this is a 4,900 lb brick in the wind. I tried it in 2wd but just couldn't get traction off the line and I tried it in sport mode and got 5.46 seconds but I forgot to turn off traction control that time so maybe there was some initial engine power cutting by the ECM. I ran out of road before the Gtech could resgister an accurate 1/4-mile time but it still recored a 14.2 @ 77.2 MPH with me letting off the throttle long before the 1/4-mile so this is definitely a 13-second truck. ?

The best I got my 2001 Tundra with exhaust mods and under drive pulley using that same Gtech on that same stretch of road was 0-60 MPH in 6.88 seconds. I know this Gtech is accurate too because when I brought my Tundra to the drag strip many years ago and I also brought this Gtech and it was within 2-tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile so that is pretty accurate enough for me, especially for 0-60 time.
