Just posting my thoughts afterwards.

2022 lariat high trim.

The big wire goes in through the front of the switch connector.

The smaller diameter wire goes in through the back of the male connector behind the AC controls.

If you remove the screen to help with getting to the connector, it has two, silver colored screws holding the display in, only accessible behind the display, accessed from the top, right behind the switches. You'll need your 7mm with a big ass long extension.

Don't start this project when you only have an hour of daylight left when you get home from work.

You'll probably have one screw left over, like I did.

No idea where it goes.

I hate to revive an old thread but I just recently purchased the hill descent button and plow button, both are combo buttons that replace my existing traction control (now hill decent / traction control) and hazard (now hazard / snow plow mode) buttons. What I am trying to accomplish is gettingo the snow plow mode to work, installed the button checked ForScan which showed Snowplow mode enabled in both the IPC and BCM, however the button does not supply power to the snowplow accessory wire behind the light switch. I’d I disable the snowplow mode in IPC then the plow feed wire gets power, but still not controllable by switch.

On another note I installed the HDC button, enabled it in ForScan and it works with no additional wiring, just the switch install and ForScan.

Finally got around to doing this today and all went well. Few tips that will hopefully help others. First, the larger terminal goes into the new switch on the dash and the smaller terminal goes into the D connector behind the HVAC module. Make sure to pay attention to the orientation of the existing terminals when installing the new ones. When installed correctly, the terminals should click right into place. Second, route the wire down the right side of your display to get to the D connector. Lastly, if you cannot get the D connector to reconnect securely, you likely need to push the white wire retainer on the front side of the connector back until it clicks again. Thanks again to @Livnitup for posting this.

Does anyone have a part number off of the 25 pin connector? I'm trying to source the terminal end so that I can make my own jumper cable.

Thanks to the photo of the 6 pin connector that was posted I was able to confirm that it is: TE 2272431-1 and the terminal pins are: TE 1393367-2 (22AWG).

Hoping someone can help with hunting down the part number for the terminal ends of that 25-pin connector. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:
I have found some additional documentation from FORD for their terminals, and I've been able to confirm the following:
WT-1001 comes with Ford Terminal P/N 7S4T-14474-AA, the supplier of which is TE and their part number is 1393366-2 (18AWG-20AWG)
WT-1002 comes with Ford Terminal P/N BU5T-14474-AA, the supplier of which is TE and their part number is 1456968-1 (20AWG to 22AWG)

OP, great info!

Doing this mod on a 2024 STX and thought I'd add the correct switch info for that model. This is an all black switch (no chrome trim) that replaces the single function OEM center large hazard switch.

Update...it works!

I now have HDC and Rock Crawl modes.

I was super confused during the install as my harnesses both had a wire in the spots listed as needing to be tapped...

So I just threw a Hail Mary, plugged in the switch, modded the FORSCAN and boom!

So on my 2024 STX the factory already had the correct wiring run...lucky.

Now if I could just figure out how to make this auto climate trigger my AC compressor ?

Interesting that the '24+ trucks appear to have the wiring there already.

I have 24 STX to, do you have Forscan code to switch Rock Crawl modes??

ABS 760-04-01 xxxx xx8x xx-- enables Rock Crawl drive mode

However, I'm not sure if it works without the Hill Descent Control?

Additionally, per the instructions on page 1 of this thread...I used those FORSCAN codes but ended up having to vary the order in which i entered them...i.e. Rock Crawl then the other 2 to get it all to work...YMMV!

On the '23's you could add rock crawl mode without hill descent control. That having been said, I never tried using it after I added it.

Awesome thread, I’m glad to hear even the 24’s might be pre wired.

I never saw if you can use these modes without the locking diff or not.

Has anyone successfully added Rock Crawl mode without adding HDC?

I do not need HDC.
