when i turn adaptive on i see a grey lane centering
the only green icon i ever see is the lane keeping it seems
centering is always grey

Ok, think I follow you now, you never get the green lane centering icon meaning centering never engages. I would just go through all the changes again and double and triple check everything. You most likely just don't have one option set just right which will make it not work at all.

Guys I'm SO close!

I got the hardware in and calibrated after making all the Forscan changes, but when I go to turn on AAC, I get an error on the dash that it's unavailable. Is this that whole "try it tomorrow" thing and it just needs to cook a little?

I triple-checked the changes against both Fordman's AAC sheet and RevQs personal changes sheet, cross referencing with Livinitup's main sheet to get values appropriate for my truck.

There are a couple of small discrepancies between the three of ours, but they were things like that my truck has Pro Trailer Backup that made me pick the option that was closest to my original value but included the new setting from the sheet.

760-03-01 *xxx -- I went 5 to D because my original aligned with that setting, changing the ACC portion only. You each had different settings there. (7 to F and 4 to C)

7D0-09-01 xxxx *xxx xx-- you both went A to C, but mine was set to 4. I went to C also, because I think it aligns, but maybe that's the issue?

720-10-01 x*xx xxxx xx-- you both went to B. I don't have Hill Decent Control (at least I don't think so. I don't have a button for it) so I went to 9 because it also seemed to align with my build, but again maybe it's that one?

720-03-02 xx*x xx-- "to 4" Rev's was already set to 4. Mine was at C so I set it to 4.

I can see the cars in front of me on the radar, the gap setting works from the wheel, lane keeping (not centering) works, TSR works. But when I press the cruise button on the wheel I get the message and the radar image out the front of the truck on the cluster goes away (at least I think it does, I'll have to double check since it's showing in the photo). The lane keeping icon does change to Lane Centering.

Cruise Off - Set to Adaptive, Lane Center etc. in Sync.

As soon as I push the Cruise button on the wheel, I get this.

I hope it's something simple I overlooked!

Is that a separate calibration from the CCM? I did the 15 min drive around bit while it said "sensor not calibrated" on the dash and then it succeeded in Forscan and the message went away.

Did you clear all the DTC's in forscan after the ccm calibration? If ya did, did any remain after clearing?

I did clear them all yep. I have a single DTC remaining in the IPMA which I believe is it trying to see the non-existent Nav. I’ll scan and post it though.

Maybe I should reset the CCM and see if that helps?

Looking at livnitup's database, I think you might want a 5 in that value.

Woke up this morning and I guess the truck just needed a nice little nap. Everything is working!

Thanks SO much to everyone for the help! @superfordman @ReverendQ and @Jesse-Infotainment and all the others who chipped in have given me back the one feature I had deleted that I was most looking forward to having. Really appreciate it.

On another note, I decided to try the Lane Centering this morning on the way to work. It was a residential street with protected bike lanes on my right and a dashed line on my left, but it was still able to active. Then it tried to kill me lol.

It started to take a curve to my right but then just drove over the dashed line and into the lane to my left. I knew it was happening and made sure the lane to my left was clear, but I have no idea why it occurred.

Does that sound familiar to anyone else? I'm used to the Lane Keeping being pretty picky about lines, but the centering seems a lot more aggressive in deciding it can see lines and activate.

Glad to hear! Its just a big computer, usually just needs the cord pulled every now and then to reset things.

Lane centering needs well defined lines on both sides to function correctly. If either of those lines start to diverge or disappear when it is active, you might go for a ride, so always be cautions. It always tries to stay between two lines, and sometimes it sees lines that it thinks are lines, but aren't really lines, so then weird things start to happen. It works 100% of the time, 90% of the time.

Haha definitely get the 100%/90%.

I turned off centering for the rest of the day and dorked around in town letting the truck stop and go on its own. It is a little jerky but still pretty magical. I'm definitely glad I jumped in and did the wheel switches so I can experiment with the distance settings.

I'll take it for a highway drive in the next couple of days and get a feel for the LC in a more reasonable environment.

Now to back up all the new As-Builts so I know they're safe and sound!

Some pics from the job. So glad I had a friend there to help.

First trim piece off. The sides took more force than I expected. We figured out that you need to lift up a bit before pulling outward to help the clips release.

Shroud and Grill off. It did take a bit of wiggling to get it to clear the lights since the tolerances are tight, but when it does come it slides out pretty easily, so don't force things.

Looking at the grill like this made me ask "What's that little square thing next to the camera in the Ford badge?" My friend guessed correctly that it's a sprayer for washing the camera. TIL! (I did turn on the camera and spray it a few times just for fun)

Check out this terrible workmanship from the factory! The rubber that was supposed to slot above and below the grill was just crammed all up behind it. We put it back properly. (wonder if the louver ticking I got a few times was it jamming on this stuff... geez)

Bumper off. The stool and toolbox were used to support the edges as we were taking it off. It really helped when we got down to the last of the bolts. The three bolts on the left side of the photo were easy from the top. The bottom bolt on the right side of the photo (driver's) was easier from the bottom with an extension, in our opinion.

Pulling out the old harness and installing the new one. By far the most tedious part of the physical work. So many tabs and connectors that all work differently from each other!

We ended up removing the air dam mechanism on the lower middle part of the photo to get at the connector for the air dam actuator. Both of those were quite tough to get at the retainer clips to slide them with very little room to maneuver. It was only 3 bolts and took 2 mins after I struggled with the connector for 10 mins.

Installing the CCM. We slid it in from the space next to the license plate and then bolted from behind so I could hold it as centered in the holes as possible from the front. We knew we had the right harness when the connector was perfectly where it needed to be. We did attach the harness connection before bolting the CCM in place.

Airbag out. Getting the trim off the wheel felt a bit dodgy like the plastic was going to break. Once we realized the lower section was friction fit and pressed in, it helped with figuring out how to pry with the trim tools in the right spots.

I didn't take off the shroud around the wheel like some videos show. I was able to get at the retaining bar thingy's inside the wheel with an allen key and push them over. We used a boroscope that my friend had to take a peek inside first so we knew roughly where we were aiming for.

The small hex screws on the rear of the switch could easily strip I think. We went really slowly and with a lot of downward pressure. It all worked out but I could see one of them stripping out and being a real pain.

Fun times!

edit - almost forgot I discovered I have a block heater that I never ordered so that’s cool. Plug was up behind the licence plate mount and goes to a harness and off into the engine bay.

VIN: 1FTFW1E85PFC97514 built 11/23 XLT high, BAP, W 360 cam this is what i found at the IPMA and behind the bumper. I might have the the wires at the IPMA but not at the bumper maybe it's tucked into a crevice or something. Any help is appreciated
