Add Auto-Start-Stop

Yep, be grateful it is not there.
Mine has failed to restart more than a few times-annoying and probably not too safe.
Get a message to put car in neutral or park and restart engine.

probably caused by the very anemic battery Ford supplied the truck with.
I’m on my third battery in 3 years, but the latest battery is an H8 and I have not the issue since

With all the hate auto stop-start gets I'm surprised everyone isn't calling it A.S.S....

I thought I'd hate it too but I actually like it. I do notice the impact it makes in my fuel economy when sitting in heavy traffic or at long lights. Pro tip: you don't need to hit the accelerator to restart the engine. Give the steering wheel a tug.

It's not bad, it's just wildly incomplete without the rest of the stuff that gives a parallel hybrid better fuel economy and power vs a standard powertrain. It's like putting one mud tire and 3 touring tires on your truck: there are benefits, but they're a fraction of what they could be with the whole system, particularly vs the costs.

I'm not sure why someone wants auto start/stop, much less pay for it. This is a stupid idea from the beginning. Running out of power in 100 degree rush hour? Sitting behind a dead Tesla or Mustang, then my auto start/stop does not work?

I bought a special device to reverse the function of my 2021. Now I can turn it ON any time I want it by punching the same button. Which is none.

It's great to know that Foreskin can turn it off. Which seems to be a simple solution. If I were so inclined I could go into my computer and screw up who knows what at the same time.

What engine do you have? If it's a powerboost, it can have the delete and it still functions like auto start/stop.

Jeep gladiator has two batteries under the hood one just for the auto start stop feature and it's not easy to get to and when it's on it's way out it causes a bunch of electrical problems

That is what I used. Simply reversed the operation of the switch. Still works, but now it must be turned on if you need to save the planet.

My guess is that my battery should be longer lived. Just guessing, but everyone seems to have battery problems.

Nope, won’t work, There’s hardware missing, so a simple coding change will not add it back int.
