Stall - "Auto Start/Stop"

I have a 2020 F-150 5.0 FX4 screw with 11,000 flawless miles. When I started the truck tonight, I turned off the auto stop/start like I always do. I drove approx 3 miles, and slowed down to make a 90-degree left-hand turn. I never stopped moving. In the middle of the turn, the truck just died cold dead, no warning. On the instrument panel was a message "auto stop/start. Place vehicle in Park and restart." I did that, and completed my 40-mile trip without further incident. There were no warning lights of any kind after the event, so I don't know if any codes were recorded.

That's a serious safety problem. If that happened while you were making a left turn to cross traffic you could be t-boned. I'd have a dealer look for any codes that are present.

This happened in my 2019 f150 once and never occurred again. It was random...hasn't happened in my 2021 thus far.

I have had the same problem and have taken my truck into Westway Ford in Irving 3 times... for a total of 9 weeks... they told me last week that they cannot replicate the problem, but just like this guy, it dies very randomly, and it doesn't throw any codes. The dealership replaced the solenoid on the 2nd visit, but it died coming off the highway 6 days later.

i know dealerships are swamped and short handed, but for them to throw up their hands and say "we can't replicate the problem" after 3 visits and 9 weeks is unacceptable on so many levels. (they also lost my truck key the first visit which was part of the reason by my truck was there for almost 5 weeks). i am at my wits end.

it died on stop and go traffic on the highway. so yes it is very dangerous. i am looking at getting rid of my truck because of it.

Knock on wood, it only happened that one time. But I am always thinking of it now, especially as I'm closing in on my annual 8+ hour drive to the Outer Banks with the whole family.

Ford isn't earning the loyalty I've shown them for 40+ years, with all these stories like yours.
