Sounds like you're seeing the side of the road lighting come on, not an actual movement of the lights themselves. I've not seen any height adjustments based on the location of a vehicle. Vehicle taillights can vary substantially and aren't a good indicator of where to level lights to. I suspect you're seeing suspension variables change them. When you accelerate they can aim down a bit and as you come up to speed and it unloads it can raise a little giving you such a perception followed up with the 'side' brights coming on. They only work at speed.

Side road lighting only comes on during turn events, either via your turn signal or making a low-speed turn. That feature is automatically disabled if you have your fog lights on.
I'll have to try and shoot some video of it in action.
Doesn't matter the car or the distance. The beam won't go above the rear window of the car in front of me. As soon as they change lanes, not me, the beam raises and extends the light ahead of me.
I've tried to see if it was a fluke, but it does it every time I drive at night and have glare free enabled.

Yeah. That’s part of the Glare free feature that you enabled. It doesn’t tilt down it just blocks out the light in that section of the matrix. Miss having it.

I have it enabled on my 23 Platinum.
Love it.
I also noticed it directs the headlight beam downward when you're behind another vehicle, so it doesn't shine through their back window.
I don’t know if you remember the video that came out of Europe, but I’ve certainly tested it: With an oncoming car, the lights will gradually shift so the beam does not blind the driver.
It will even create a black patch around the vehicle as it approaches. My 2021 lariat had it enabled from the factory and there was a video in the infotainment centre, But my 22 tremor needed a forscan tweak to enable the adaptive lights and the video is missing.
Here’s the definition:
Headlights with adaptive driving beams, not to be confused with curve-adaptive headlights, are similar to high-beam assist. However, rather than switching between high and low beams, they continuously adjust the high-beam pattern to create a shadow around other vehicles. The official Ford video was enabled in the vehicles owner manual screen. I’ll try and find it online.

Is there an update to the HCM programming on the 2024 MY F150?
734-01-02 throws a code and I do not have a 734-01-04

Glare Free has been disabled in 2024 models. Most likely because the NHTSA has been dragging its feet on final approval. It was never authorized in the United States only in Canadian deliveries, So technically, anyone that modified (Forscan), was violating current NHTSA Standards. I posted an article by CNN, which outlined the problems that manufacturers were having in the United States and Ford had several models in with adaptive headlights, and the F150 (High models from Lariat/Tremor and up) was equipped in anticipation of a final approval that never happened. in the meantime, I’ll try and find that article from CNN. Here it is: https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/15/cars/headlights-tech-adaptable-high-beams-cars/index.html

Doesn't seem like Glare Free works anymore, so I'd say that's a pretty big downside.
Glare-Free has been disabled on 2024s. I located an article by CNN which provided clues as yo why, and it is basically foot dragging by the bureaucratic NHTSA. Ford had Glare Free in Europe for a while on several models including Mondeo (AKA Fusion), and had been anticipating NHTSA approval which was never finalized. So now, in Ford's cost cutting era of deleting the superfluous, it made sense, just to eliminate it, and projector lights are left with only "Dynamic Bending".

Yes, if you've got the projector led headlights. 502a/402a trim levels and up.
Thank you. Can you direct me somewhere or tell me how to door a power cycle or module reset? Thank you.

Hi all - trying to figure out if my "new to me" 2023 F150 Platinum with equipment group 701A has the glare free capable headlights?

The window sticker says it has "Projector headlamps" and when I turn the truck on, the headlights do move up and down (haven't noticed right or left).

I also don't see anywhere on the window sticker a mention of CCD or scales, but I also wasn't sure if CCD/scales were part of 701A?

If you have the projector LEDs, you have a Glare-Free capable truck.

Scales and CCD were not part of any package I know of. I had to chose them as a standalone option when I special ordered my 2022 KingRanch.

I think the Limited included them as standard equipment though.

Thank you! I did the Forscan mod last night for the Glare free and it worked perfectly on my 23 platinum
