I’m somewhere north of 99% sure that if you follow the instructions in the owner’s manual (snakebitten referred to essentially the same instructions) that the system will perform as expected. I can say that I am 100% sure based on the way my ‘22 XLT 302a behaves.
But you do you.
The system is performing exactly as I expect it to and the way I want it to. I never said it wasn't.

That's excellent; no one could ask for more. Forgive me if I misquoted you or someone, but I thought I saw in the thread an assertion that Adaptive Cruise Control doesn't moderate your speed based on its reading of speed limit signs, but that's not the case. It most definitely does do that, provided it's configured that way in the "Features" --> "Driver Assistance" --> "Cruise Control" --> "Adaptive Cruise Control" screen.
In any event, it's gratifying to hear it's working for you as you want it to.

No apologies necessary. I did make that assertion; however, I didn't intend to imply that it was that way for everyone, just me. Thanks to snakebitten, ginosega, you, and others, the "mystery" in different functionality has been solved.

Bottom line: ACC can be set to adjust or not, for speed signs, while still displaying them. How fast..... well that's a different story.

Happy trucking everyone!

Coming from a "dumb" truck (2001), while there was certainly a learning curve, I love all the driver assist goodies and use them, all the time, with one exception.

The trailer hitch assist. For me, the first and last several times I tried it, its just too persnickety. The sun angle can mess with it. Too steep (which turns out to be not very steep at all) and it cancels and when it doesn't cancel, it reads the adjustment part of the Weigh Safe Middle weight hitch, rather than the ball.

But everything else, I use them. Why wouldn't I want to avoid an accident, or a speeding ticket? Let the machines do the work. I still pay attention and am driving the vehicle but so far, my systems work well. Not perfect but well and for sure, the crash avoidance system alerted me to a problem, before I realized it, giving me time to make the necessary adjustments.

Scared the crap out of me at first but it saw a piece of road hazard before I did. A white car in front of me, flipped up a piece of white debris. The truck knew the 2 were not the same and reacted, before I did.

this is how I feel about it too. i bought the truck for the tech. i want it to do as much as it can so I don't have to. I've started referring to all of it as "supervised, hands free cruise control". i do wish we got blue cruise while towing like chevy :D

I didn't go with BC. The eye watchers were just too creepy for me but lane centering does a good job, overall.

You know, that’s kind of funny. I don’t often use bluecruise. The local 2-lane blacktop roads don’t enable it. The only time I use it is when I’m in Indianapolis or Fort Wayne.

Any rate, the bluecruise on my truck is rock solid, it works extremely well. The lane centering on the other hand, is annoying as can be. It’s a lot like being a bowling ball , at a kids day at the bowling alley, with the gutter bumpers installed.

I know some have that complaint. Mine is fine. Don't know why there are differences.

Most of the time, when it warns to put hands on the wheel, they have been but it does such a good job, that the touch is light. IOW, it is doing exactly what I'd do.

At the moment, in the three way race with Chevy & Dodge, blue cruise appears to be in a distant fourth . . .

I recently turned on the sign recognition stuff. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I wish it could have different profiles: 45 and lower? do exactly speed limit. above 55? do "4" over. Also, this isn't an adaptive cruise control issue, but I wish the truck would "stop accelerating" to slow down instead of hitting the breaks. Its a waste of fuel and wearing down the breaks, all while being annoying for everyone around, including me :D
Did you play with the threshold setting? It wont separate the two but it will give you the 4 over, I use it and set it to 5 and I like it.

yup, I have it set to 4 over with an adjustment to the current signs.

Here's some tips for those of you using or refusing to use the systems for whatever reason.

- The throttle overrides the auto braking and other nanny systems that slow the vehicle AND it's variable. As such you can use the throttle to adjust the rate of deceleration. The more you tip in the less braking it does. This will also cancel out auto emergency braking like when a car that's just touching your lane from an adjacent lane triggers it.
Wait, does this mean if I'm even just a little on the throttle, the emergency braking (say a pedestrian walks in front of vehicle) or rapid deceleration of car i'm following triggers it, the truck wil NOT apply emergency braking? Or are you saying it's like a pressure switch, if the dash alarm goes off, it will emergency brake UNLESS you apply more throttle?

I've always powered through it with more throttle typically turning the wheel a hair to provide space. I've never tried to accelerate at a pedestrian so not sure how that goes. Typically I'm paying attention and can already see a car doing something so i'm off throttle and go into it. Not sure what happens if you're constant on the throttle and just not paying attention -- my directions are in regards to false/nuisance trigger.

you'd think pedestrians would be lining up to try it out, but for some strange reason, they don't.

I've snuck up on several of them in the MME. When the cooling system isn't running, they jump when a car is suddenly behind them. I find it hilarious, they typically don't. PB sneaks up on people too. My pedestrian speakers don't work for some reason. Might be the fact they're sitting in box on the shelf. ?‍♂
