Have you check for any blockage to prevent the dam from operating normally?

I get it a lot. Dealership told me that I had dirt in it and that was blocking it from working properly. I knew that was a load of BS but I did not have time to fight with the service department. It's a truck ffs. It's meant to get dirty and mine in definitely not a pavement princess. Once I return from my next trip I'll take it back again and fight with them.

I have been getting this fault intermittently. When I plug in my Autel tablet I can extend and retract the air damn using the tool, so it is working. looks like there is a TSB to flash the software to correct the problem. Ford needs to get with the program and automatically push all the software updates instead of the owner researching TSBs making an appointment with the dealer to bring the rig and the TSB in for them to do it...

If the software update, stops the second piece from extending down so far it would work. I have found with mine in the wind or other adverse conditions the extending piece gets stuck on the fixed piece then it can’t retract. 99% of the time it fixes itself the other time I unstick and then it fine
