There is a noise coming from the driver side A-pillar in my 24 Lariat. It sounds like a loose wire tapping against plastic. Usually, I can pound on the area to recreate (or stop) the sound(s) coming from the interior of a vehicle, but with this one, I cannot. Or I can apply pressure to the area I think the sound is coming from and it will stop.

This sound will not go away, regardless of what I do.

I'd like to take the A-pillar trim off to investigate but I am reluctant for 2 reasons. One, I don't want to damage anything cosmetically, and two, I don't know if there is an airbag in there.

If anyone has a similar noise and solution or can provide steps to safely remove the trim, I would appreciate it!

I appreciate this and will investigate the door panel; that's something I hadn't considered. But it really sounds like it's coming from the A-pillar where the grab (OH $HIT) handle is. That's the part of the truck I'd like to take apart.

This is a common rattle. Not too hard.

The "sail" pops off easily. Put some thin felt strips all over the place (you can buy a notebook sized sheet of felt "paper" with light adhesive on one side at a fabric store).

You can get the A-Pillar off. The hardest is pulling that handle cover off, at least for me. I damaged mine with the tool. Was really stuck. But thankfully I think only $13 to replace it. After that it is just a couple bolts. You need a small tool to "hook" into the cover hole at the bottom. My issue is I couldn't get a great grip, it slipped, and but a big gash in the handle cover.

At that point I'd suggest felt at the meeting point between the dash and the A-Pillar at the bottom. I had a rubbing/rattle there on mine.

If you need to go further you can also pop out the window controls on the door.

I've got felt all over
