I will tell you that 3D printing has gotten a lot easier than it was 10 years ago. Even me getting in 4 years ago. I skipped past a lot of the pain that people went through to get good prints. These days. If you spend anywhere north of like $500, you can get a solid printer that just prints what you need. I got a Prusa MK3s for 800 bucks 4 years back and that really is the entry point to buy a printer that just prints what you ask it to instead of having to worry about leveling, first layer thickness, removing the print from a glass bed etc.

Looks like a great design you made. I know how long some designs can take. I had no prior knowledge of CAD when I bought my 3d printer.
I designed the bracket for my Rough Country light controller to sit in and I with all the angles and small little corners, it about drove me insane.

FL-500S oil filter socket - spent some time designing this today... cheers!

Edit - designed a 14 rib version as well. I had two FL-500S filters needing two different sockets so I designed the 2nd one as well. Download at the link above.

There is also this guy to quiet up that backup beeper...
Nicely done sir.

Interesting note on the Extrusion Multiplier being set to .96. I have been trying to find a means to replicate Cura's slicing Exclusive tolerance setting with PrusaSlicer so parts will fit better. Never thought to mess with this setting so see what difference it would make with close tolerance prints.

Sooooooo……I just printed the 14 sided one and it doesn’t have the 3/8 ratchet hole.

even the 3D file doesn’t show it.

Can you check your slicer gcode output? That cylinder is a modifer in Prusa Slicer... not sure why it printed as solid for you?

I added the stl files to the printables page. You can add perimeter modfiers in your slicer if you want.

The sliced object gcode looks like this:

Mine did the same thing, its a Ender and I got the solid cylinder in the middle w/ no cutout for the ratchet. Chalked it up to bad luck but maybe the slicer is doing something weird. I sliced /w Cura if it matters.

Our public libraries have printers you can use. For the cost of a cup a coffee you can print it.
