Crew cab trucks are so ubiquitous exactly because station wagons were specifically targeted for legislation that made them all but extinct on today’s roads. Funny enough, with the improved fuel economy of hybrids; crossover SUVs are evolving into station wagons.

90% of crew cab owners could accomplish 99% of their ‘Truck’ tasks with the classic body on frame station wagon! From where Honda basically co-opted the multi function tailgate from the Ridgeline.

I feel lucky, my local dealer took this one in on trade , a 2023 XL 4X4

and I didn't waste anytime making a deal when I spotted it. of course
I have been upgrading . The salesman did say it was a rare model and I told him it fits my needs.

Yes, the sporty regular cabs are difficult to find, especially if you want an XLT and non-slate interior like I did. I was very glad when I found mine with less than 5,000 miles on it only 150 miles away from me. I enjoy driving vehicles that are less common and keep them mint and original. I always do quite well financially when I eventually sell them, and expect the same with this one.

Go to any dealer lot and you will not see a single regular cab XL or XLT or higher trim level. The work trucks are meant to be as cheap as possible which is OK if that is what you want. I have had trucks where there was no air conditioning and no windshield washer and no FM radio and no air bags and no power steering and no automatic transmission and no air bags. As these features became available my new trucks had these extras, often as standard equipment.

I do not view a pickup as a viable "hot rod" and my need to impress others has long been outgrown.

depends on the dealer, Friendly Ford in TX has alot of XL RCSB with 5.0's, because in Texas, a ton of those sport trucks are made into hotrods.
While not for everyones taste, they are being lowered, Whipple, tune and running fast times!
Possibly not made to haul groceries, but haul a** for sure.

Friendly ford has a number of those trucks, and all of the ones with blowers installed have the 700 hp whipple setup that makes a good bit less torque than the whipple stage 1. The rcsb 4wd's that don't already have a blower have the equipment 103a package, which I do not want.

I have a 19 RCSB. XL, 4x4 2.7 3.73 elocker. March 12, I ordered a 24 RCSB in the only available configuration, XL 5.0, 3.73. Mine will be 4x4, High, antimatter blue with a spray in liner.

I also was starting to believe it would not get built, but I received an email it was built on August 20, and is awaiting shipping. I’ve seen the window sticker, so I am believing, now. Phew.

I find the comparison to a Miata to be rather hilarious. I had one Supercab and rued my decision the whole time.
I am a carpenter, very seldom have a passenger, so the RCSB is the truck for me.

Regular cabs are the only true trucks.

I don’t need a mini van with a bed.

There is a 23 and a few 24's on Atlanta area lots. 2x4's from what I can tell. The 23 is loaded with a sticker of 43k, probably get that one for close to 30k.

Call me crazy, but I like the 04-08 RCSB, that little bit of room behind the seats was perfect for a small dog, your coat, groceries or long guns.

Call Lebanon FORD in Lebanon Ohio and ask for Cameron. I was just there last Saturday dropping off my truck for a Whipple upgrade. They had a couple, and you can get the truck with Whipple installed for ~49K

How long does Lebanon need it for the upgrade? Asking for a friend with a 5.0.?

The truck at Lebanon that a salesman was checking on for me turned out to have a deposit on it. I don't yet know whether they have any others on the way that aren't spoken for and fit my criteria. I'm beginning to get less interested as I encounter both scarcity of the truck I want and sales people that don't seem all that motivated. It's not like I need a new vehicle to get to work, and not having a car payment is nice. Here I go, talking myself out of it.

Are any of you guys looking for one of these and having trouble finding one? There seem to not be many of them, and you can't order a '24 anymore. I'd like to get a '24 and get the better rebates compared to a '25.

Friendly ford in Crosby Texas has them. Went to order a sleeper but they had a sleeper 23 I fell in love with. I'm in NC and cost 1450.00 to have it delivered. They are great to deal with
