I almost bought a 24 XL reg cab w/5.0 and 3.73 rear with the intent of making it a little hot rod- maybe an exhaust and definitely some wheels. But the more I looked at the front end and grill the more I decided against it. There was just no way I could make it look good without spending a ton of money on it. I really like the 23 STX grille- probably my favorite of all the F150 front ends, so I ended up with a 23 SC 2.7 and I'm pretty happy. Does anyone else think Ford really screwed up the grills on the 24's? They just look cheap-like you're looking at a scale model. Interestingly, this is also a topic on the Mustang forum because the grill on the 24 Mustang is also very Fisher-Price looking- ie, cheap.

The piano black and gloss grey version in the new STX and XLT is much better than the flat black in the XL

I think the 24 grille look okay with truck with painted bumpers. The black grille / chrome bumper doesn't look great to me.

The 302a trucks lost the LED signature running lights. So 302a trucks looked cheapened out to me.

Also prefer the LED Running lights on the 21-23 vs 24 Lariat and up.

As I can no longer get a supercrew XLT sport pkg with the 6.5 box, if I were in the market today I'd be looking at a Ram most likely. The XLT 157's look ugly to me now. Not a fan of chrome.

Don't know why but, every time I look at it all I can see is:

Honestly the lower trims just look like they ran out of time and just slapped something together at 3 o'clock on a friday. Very bland / basic looking. Unfortunately the bumper is just different enough that it has to be swapped for 23/24 to use different grilles / lights / etc... A simple light / grille and painted below-grille valence isn't enough (to transition between G14v1 and G14v2).

Well I have a 2024 Regular Cab XL on order and haven't actually seen one in the flesh yet..So I'm hoping I'll fall in love..It's Iconic Silver so that will help.

IMO, the XL front end looks way better in person than in pics. Best front end ever...nope, not even close, but not horrible.

The pics of XL trucks with painted bumpers make the front end look much better also so that's what I plan to do.

That's exactly what I was looking at... Here's a picture of it. Just couldn't get excited about it at all.

It's all personal taste but the black edge that goes around the HL that has the reflector in it looks really cheap. And the FORD emblem is horrible it isn't a badge, it's a sticker that looks like they bought it off etsy.

I understand the need to reduce costs, but man, it's a face only a mother could love. The amount of orange is borderline offensive. Skimping on a $20k maverick I could understand, but it'd be hard to find a base trim w/ minimum-acceptable-features for less than $50k out the door. :headbang:
