Differences 21 f150 vs 23 f150

Does anyone with a 2021 have a “hot” steering wheel? I even up the temp to 39 in forscan

My 2021 steering wheel gets the perfect amount of hot…def much more heat than my Silverado. But more importantly, it is more balanced heat around the ring whereas the Silverado is only certain areas.

Just looking to see what the differences are from a 21 f150 lariat to a 23 aside from the gain of a heated steering wheel.

I wanted to buy my “no holds barred” truck. The 24’s are packaged very specifically so you can get a luxury, a fast, a work truck, etc…I wanted everything including a 157” wheelbase.
Then I decided I’d take advantage of low interest rates on a 23…but I learned they were all “deleted” so no heated steering wheel, multi-contour seats, massaging seats, rear camera for bed and motion sensor alarm…all were deleted (and I might be missing something. Plus, since I wanted the long bed - very few options.
Then I decided to buy used and looked at 22’s. Seemed to me a lot of complaints AND they cost reduced the 22’s with some minor tweaks. I know they deleted the interior mood lighting and the temp indicators on the dials for individual temp setting. I think they also eliminated the LED’s for small lights like the license plate, interior spaces like glove box and maybe the back up lights.
So, I opened the search up to include 21’s and learned they had more, no deletes, and more configuration options. I found a 21 with only 17k miles and absolutely every option I wanted plus it had the option for the 11 year/175k mile Ford Premium Care warranty so I bought it. I am Siler Happy that I got a super loaded truck, no deletes or cost reductions and spec’d perfect for my needs. The 24’s do have the option for heads up display and the new tailgate, but I was warned by the dealer that they do not know what will be deleted until it is on its way to the dealer - that wouldn’t work for me.
Keep in mind - I was super picky - Powerboost, high spec (Plat, KR or Limited) 157”, max trailer tow, FX4 (to eliminate the CCD suspension), twin panel, Blue cruise, multi contour, max recline, massaging, heated steering, spray in bedliner, pro-power on board, 4A transfer case, hill descent, no chrome bumpers, and E-locker. You can’t get anywhere close to that on a 24…

I found the default temp lacking and very uneven across the wheel, I upped the temp using forscan and it is a night and day difference in usefulness. I would recommend you give that a shot and see if you are any happier with it.

It's an app you can use to customize a ton of settings on your truck including the temperature of your wheel.

You will need a cable to connect to your truck from the laptop you run the app one, the one most recommended is about $70 on amazon, but there is a cheaper option people have a lot of success with.

For those believing the wheel isn't getting warm enough, it could be the thermistor's proximity to the heating element, which cannot be changed. You can alter the 'sensitivity' of the probe by installing a resistor in-line with it (or a potentiometer). With the right resistor you could lower its reported value by 10c or so therefore allowing you to better set the right comfort level for you. It's much easier to access the thermistor in the seat's heating elements to properly place them if one of them has moved too close to the heating element. They're not secured in place too well.

My mach-e's seats and wheel get to much higher temps than the F150. The mach-e will straight up cook the occupant in the seat. Even on the coldest days it can't stay on high but for a few minutes before it's damn hot.

I absolutely love my heated steering wheel in my 21 Platinum ... it's something I didn't know I needed or wanted until I had it! Lol. I don't think I could be without it now hahah

We went to Quinns Hotsprings in Montana this weekend. And since my truck is getting new axles put in, we took my wifes Explorer.
17* and for some reason... I dont know how.. my wifes, "Limited" Explorer doesnt have a HSW. In all the years she's owned it, she's never complained. Bless her. I on the other hands felt like driving with my elbows until the car warmed up....

My '21 has heated steering. From what I've read, seems less is available on newer models and the cost is higher! LOL...

Just did one of the cabins... I had no idea where we were going... she just told me to take Friday off, and pointed where to turn...
Only suggestion would be dont go in winter... the pools were nice and hot... but the 13 seconds it takes to get out of the pool and grab your robe and towel, was horrific...

I actually like the ‘warm’ steering wheel. It’s often 20F up my way and it’s just the right temperature to never have to turn it off.

not to mention I think I might have been the first person to get it working with the 8” screen so I kind of feel like a trailblazer (shameless plug)

So this is all about a stupid steering wheel and not about updated cam phasers, EIWE part number changes, new valves in the 2.7, or anything that could possibly matter.
