I have been researching side exit exhaust systems with the 5.0..Drone at speed seems to be a major concern and I absolutely don't want that. Truthfully I'm going for the look similar to the 1998-2004 Lighting as I think there's not a lot of performance to be gained by $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 systems.
Has anyone run side exhaust from the factory muffler on back and just added the NICE $300.00 tips? I know it would not have the deep sound but absolutely would be quiet. Exit would be in front of the rear tire..Or is there a real benefit for the expensive systems?

I've seen some homemade rear exit exhausts some folks have done on here, but can't recall any like you mention. There are only a couple of systems that will fit the RCSB, but adapting one to fit looks pretty simple. Check out scambler68s build here-- https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/2021-rcsb-build.8178/

His shop ended up cutting the factory flange on the truck and slipped the muffler directly onto the exhaust. He posted a pic near the end of the post.

Edit--just reread the title.

Hi I’ve got the pre axle black street (two muffler)kit from MBRP. No Drone what so ever. It’s quiet till you stomp on it then she gets loud. It’s deeper tone than the others out there. At 70 on the highway you can totally have a regular conversation. its a tight fit had to shorten the kit to fit . Love it As it’s not raspy. Told them to make the tips tight and angled them a bit versus coming straight out. The race kit that is for ours is the same it just has one muffler. if I wanted it louder I could go back and just remove one of the mufflers. Sorry i haven’t had the time to get any good shots from the side but the tips are there and they are nice double walled.

What did you do to the suspension to get that stance?

Hi this is a IHC 3/5 Ride Quality kit on a 4x4 xlt with factory struts upfront. its a flip kit in the back I all so have IHC helper bags in the rear that I normally put about 15psi for every day use. I bumped it up to 40 psi one time with 37 bags of mulch and it didn’t squat at all. 22” wheels 285/45R22. I like a little rake to give it that old school 68 muscle car look.

On order ‘22 RCSB.
The stock muffler ends beyond the point of being able to come out of it and do side exit. you would need to cut some pipe after the resonator in order to move the factory muffler forward. even then, the stock muffler is soooo long you might not be able to get your tips where you want them.
Look under your truck and you will see what i’m talking about.

This is what I want to do! Looks like it can move 7" forward and slightly rotated then continue a bent pipe out to the side exhaust.

So it is possible to modify the factory exhaust to a side pre axle exit and add tips.. No change in tone.. Hmm..I imagine the cost (WAG) to be around $300.00 or more with nice dual tips. When my truck actually gets here I'll look into that but since I'm fully prepared to spend $3,000.00 or more for very nice wheels and tires I'll probably just do it right so I get the right sound and maybe, just maybe a little more performance. My Son keeps telling me the wheels and tires I pick are the most important modification both for looks and performance. He really likes the chrome mag wheels that come on the new Shelby 'Super Snake Sport' but at $600.00 each plus tires seems too much lolol! I wonder if a take off set might show up on Facebook..

I'm sure it could be done but what cost. I believe you need to hack it up to bring the muffler (?) Forward from its existing position.

I'm not sure what other vendors offer for pre axle exit but I've heard Borla is fairly mundane.

I have the Corsa Sport pre axle and while it sounds bad ass, since it's my daily, I'd be lying to you if there are times I don't prefer driving my other vehicle with a stock exhaust.

I have the mbrp race cat back. You have the street? I'm wondering what I have to do to get a resonator to fit in front of muffler. It doesn't look like there's room but if your kit fits then I should be able to make it fit. Do you have any pictures of underneath your truck?

I'm curious what they did to make it fit as well. I didn't get that kit because mbrp's description says excluding regular cab and if you look at their instructions it says RC w/8 ft bed. I'd think they either cut some off the factory connection or shortened up the tail pipes. There's really not much room between the factory connection and exiting before the rear tire.
