2024 F-150 Raptor is getting the new Shelter Green Metallic paint color, likely as a Raptor exclusive.

Yeah, this is the article I mentioned where it is super obvious if you just do a little bit of evaluation that the images don't support there being a vertical option at all.

You can see the current menu bar at the bottom of the image (highlighted in green, clearer in others in that same string), and how that lines up with the steering wheel right where the current 12in lines up. It's poor journalism.

But I do think the phrase "bigger battery" is a huge oversimplification of the way the Powerboost Hybrid Battery is packaged.
2 cell packs confirmed with clear busbar jumping them.

That HVBJB (orange scribble box) is from the escape hybrid -- as in the exact same part number.

The PB doesn't actually have too many unique parts. You can find everything from the AC compressor, the DC/DC (MME), traction inverter, battery design, and trans hybrid design through all sorts of ford platforms. The crazy part is just how much of that battery 'box' is given to the cooling plate. The cell packs themselves consist of ~1/3 of the size.

Yup, looks like the 12" vert screen. Such a shame, it's a shit design.

Interesting conclusion, lol.

Hyundai Tucson, Ford Maverick on order
Unpopular opinion - I would have preferred that Ford put off their refresh and instead focused on dealing with their supply shortages and quality control issues.

I love my F150 and have no regrets about going with Ford over Ram/Chevrolet/GMC/Toyota. But in the first six months of ownership I've had a modem connectivity issue, a misaligned front bumper, rattling door trim that needed to be dealt with, and damage to the car from the factory that the dealership had to fix.

Ford can do better.
Unpopular opinion because it's a gross oversimplification of how this works. Design team can't get more parts from suppliers, nor are they qualified to improve manufacturing process on the line. So your choice is refresh or no refresh with no impact on your concerns either way. UNLESS the refresh simplifies the manufacturing process and improves quality that way, in which case your preferece would be counterproductive.

Excellent points.

And based on the most simplified example of a very complex manufacturing process, we still have yet to get a glance of the first F150 that has post pandemic design attributes.
Or put another way, the trucks we are all driving today were "finalized", before the word Covid 19 was ever mentioned.
The upcoming refresh we see above, may be brand new to our eyes, but was likely finalized (committed to manufacturing) in 2020. The same year our trucks were first coming off the assembly line.

Yes, and most likely the pandemic/supply chain problems have slowed the development cycle by one or two years. New products for 2024 envisioned before the pandemic will now come later. I remember the leaks when the PowerBoost was announced about an hybrid Expedition using same system as PowerBoost that was going to happen in 2022.

I'm betting they will be implementing the 2023+ Superduty style flat slab dash for the upcoming heads up display option. I certainly hope the 15.5" vertical screen from the Lightning and Expedition won't be making an appearance as it's absolutely maddening to use.

From what I've seen so far the front ends and taillights look "busy" on the refresh. Little too over-designed for me, obviously I'll await the final reveal but as of right now I love the clean handsome look of the 21-23 models.
