I have a 2021 f150 3.5 ecoboost with the max tow package. Recently I noticed a scraping/popping noise when driving. I saw that there is an issue with the max tow 9.75 axle bolt. I took both rear tires off and the bolt is not sheared off on either side. There is no wires or any other part touching where it should not be. I jacked the rear end up and when turning the rear passenger tire it produces a popping/creaking noise which is what I'm hearing when driving. Any ideas on what this could be? Video attached of noise.

Good morning, if you send us a message with your VIN and mileage, I would be happy to take a further look into your noise concerns.

Had exactly same noise when cruising at 30-50 lower speed. Bolt was fine, took to dealer, and they fixed it by "Tighten rear end". They didn't want to tell what was tighten.

Now after 6 months almost 10K kilometers, the bolt is sheard, and lighter noise comes back.
Waiting for dealer to do the re-call job.

2021 3.5EB max tow on passenger side.
Driver side bolt sheard at 20K kilometers, dealer replaced axle and wheel hub, still good.

Now this time for passenger side at 65K kilometers

Doubt they tightened anything. Just a placebo to make you feel better.

I believe they did, cause the noise like OP's truck was gone quiet until the bolt sheared and comes back.
I doubt they tightened that bolt, and it caused it sheared after half year.

I had the same issues with a PB max tow. Took it to Gary Yeomans Palm Bay FL (outstanding experience for anyone in that area). They tried to tighten and the bolt broke when they torqued it down. They replaced both axels under warranty in a few hours. Heads up, they don’t keep the parts in stock. They order after diagnosing. Don’t tighten it down or mess with it on your own let them order the parts and replace.
