Got this today. 2024 3.5 EB Lariat

IMG_9228.webp

Got this too today when ‘24 2.7L EB truck shut off for just five minutes running errand into business. That’s three for the truck in about 2 weeks.

And FYI, my ‘25 Ford Escape PHEV got the GWM and Sync updates too in that time. So they seem to be coming often these days. All 5 of these updates for me occurred away from home while on stops at stores, gas stations, etc and not on WiFi.

I was surprised to see my Sync updated to 25094 directly from 23291 without me even realizing it. I just checked my About Sync screen while waiting at a stoplight and there it was. I assumed 1) that would've been an APIM update that required a USB drive (it didn't) and 2) it would've updated me to 24127 first before going to 25094. Very strange, I only remember a notification for 1 update in the past couple of months, but I manually checked my update history and it shows 5 updates in October. So it really seems to be making major updates totally behind the scenes without me even knowing it. The system works!

Yea, a few people got skipped over 24127 based on recent reports.

Yea, we can't run VINs in FDRS anymore without being plugged directly into the vehicle or they ban the accounts. My PTS account has also been limited in terms of what I can see and I can no longer see pending upates. I can still see some things that are helpful, but pending updates is not one of them.

But someone can get their own short term PTS subscription for a very reasonable fee (~$28) and then authenticate access to their own VIN using their Ford account email address. Which allows them to see available updates for their VIN.

Note: historically we have seen some instances where the available updates shown in PTS are not 100% indicative of actual updates available in FDRS. But it's usually pretty close.

Agreed. $28 is a much better option than $120 for a 2 day FDRS pass to check these things.

If anyone does this, they can also volunteer to check other people's VINs while their PTS access is live.

WARNING Small RANT

Last time I tried to get a PTS subscription, I was charged twice. The PTS subscription didn't go through because their billing outfit (Helm) will not accept my address because it is a PO box and my credit card company will not allow it because what is sent to them doesn't match the address on the card. Helm adds " STATION MAIN" for some stupid reason. I have to phone Helm to activate PTS..... PITA.

Service advisors at dealerships can also check using PTS. I had to teach a few how to check outstanding modules, but if you have a good relationship with your dealer or maybe go there to check any outstanding recalls or minor service issues like your next oil change, you can see if they will allow you to see what’s outstanding.
