I just loosen the passenger side and reach up with the clear tubing. Don't need to completely drop the fiberboard. Fumoto FTW.

Can you get to the valve /w the skid plate still in place on the 3.5? If so I will head to amazon right now.
I've got a FX4 and no transmission diaper and I can get to mine no problem.

Now I just need to get over my completely irrational fear of it coming open and all the oil draining out of the truck while I am driving.

Irrational, stupid, and impossible /w the little clip deal, but still where my mind goes.

It's got the clip, and you have to pull the little lever up to be able to turn it. You'd have other, much bigger problems if something managed to open it going down the road.

The odds are probably greater that you'd have a stripped bolt/pan over time than a fumoto empty oil while driving. Been using fumoto valves on multiple vehicles for well over a decade.

"oh a drop tray, this is slick, way to go Ford!".

Then

**Oil spills out from somewhere else entirely**

"Bunch of good for nothing idiots".
THIS. My one complaint.

Thought I had it figured out the 2nd time, methodically placed funnel at spout of tray angled towards access panel for Tremor skid.. truck was level.. unscrew filter and keep in place to drain.. oil spills out 2 holes further back on skid ?

on my 23 I don't remove anything other than the drain plug to drain oil. no need to take off the metal skid plate. have not had any issues. oil goes exactly where it is suppose to. no fuss, no mess.
