Do you mean this? The module list? Thanks Jim
Is there a cross reference list of the acronyms that Ford uses? I realize that could be a long list.
Thanks - I did find them in ForScan using the easy method. Checking out the list of options, I did not see the advantage to change anything because I only have what is listed on the side cards. Some side cards list I don't have those options. Not that I have seen. You sorta pick them up on as you wade through the forums. For your interests look at IOD (I think Information on Demand). Those are the side cards on the sync screen and you can enable them as desired. The last few characters in 7D0-01-3 and the first few in 7D-01-04 is what you are looking for.
What are you going into service for? If just routine oil change then don't worry about anything. An OTA can configure a module (make asbuilt changes) so if you've gotten a BCM OTA for example then it's likely there are a few changes different than your original backup prior to the OTA but no need to restore it. You can make another backup now if you want to any module that has had an OTA update. The dealership isn't going to search to see if you've made any asbuilt changes unless you're going in for a specific problem and they really do a deep dive.@rugedraw / @Livnitup
What is the latest guidance on restoring to an original backup after receiving an OTA? I've read conflicting posts and its unclear if this can cause problems?
I made backups of each module as recommended when I first got Forscan and then made quite a few of the popular changes. Since then I have received an OTA or 2.
If I need to go in for service can I still restore to those backups or is it recommended to go reverse the changes item by item?
Does anyone restore to 'stock' prior to receiving OTAs and then add back in mods?
Is there a tool that can compare values between to backups to see if an OTA changes any values?
Thanks to everyone for their work. Really been enjoying all the mods.
Thanks, that tool looks super useful. Will compare to see if anything has changed. What are you going into service for? If just routine oil change then don't worry about anything. This program can compare multiple FORScan .abt files to show you if they are the same: https://compulsivecode.com/Project_AsBuiltCompare.aspx
I was hoping this would be the ticket for using a PB while camping, but since you never turn the truck "off" while in generator mode, it doesn't. Generator mode SHOULD already do this.I added Silent Mode to the Common spreadsheet today. This feature is a Sync toggle that will suppress all approach lighting, lock/unlock lighting, courtesy lights until truck is turned on.
I realize the cluster will stay on but maybe you can exit the generator screen and turn the Sync display off?I was hoping this would be the ticket for using a PB while camping, but since you never turn the truck "off" while in generator mode, it doesn't. Generator mode SHOULD already do this.
